DRIVING ROUTE I: RAVELLO - MINORI - CETARA - (1 hour - 26km/16 miles) HIGHLIGHTS: Go off the beaten track, passing through tiny fishing villages • Vietri sul Mare hand-painted ceramics • Cetara, world tuna capital • Norman tower at Erchie

• Depart from Belmond Hotel Caruso (Piazza San Giovanni del Toro) to Castiglione (coastal road) • Turn left and follow the road signs to Vietri sul Mare and drive for approximately 45 minutes along the coastline • Once in Vietri sul Mare stop to visit Solimene, a famous local ceramic shop, at Via Madonna degli Angeli 7 • Retrace your steps and drive for approximately 15 minutes towards Cetara on the same road you came in on • Just on the curve, before reaching Cetara, you can admire the village of Erchie, a little gem which, legend has it, was founded by Hercules. An ancient Norman tower dominates the seafront and divides it into two small beaches • Continue to Cetara, a quintessential Mediterranean fishing village, and savour its unique delicacies at the restaurant “Acquapazza”, Corso Giuseppe Garibaldi 36 • Return to Belmond Hotel Caruso via the coastal road (40 minutes - 19km/12 miles), stopping in Minori for coffee at “Sal De Riso”, Piazza Cantilena 1, a renowned patisserie with a terrace overlooking the sea

• Depart from Belmond Hotel Caruso (Piazza San Giovanni del Toro ) to Castiglione (coastal road) • Turn right towards Atrani and drive for about 10 minutes • Once in Atrani take time to explore Italy’s smallest village, immortalised by the Dutch artist Escher, who played with light and shadow in the narrow alleyways to create many of his most intriguing works • Continue west towards Amalfi, a 5-minute drive, and stop for coffee at “Pansa”, Via Duca Mansone 1, situated beneath St Andrew’s Cathedral, the town’s landmark • Continue on the coastal road, following signs to Positano. Drive for approximately 40 minutes on the SS163 road • Once in Positano, treat yourself to some stylish local fashions handcrafted by Maria Lampo, dressmaker to the stars, whose famous boutique is at Viale Pasitea 12/16 • Lunch at “Le Tre Sorelle” restaurant, Via del Brigantino 27, to sample its delicious pasta scialatielli with clams • Return to Belmond Hotel Caruso on the SS163 road (50 minutes - 22km/13.7 miles)
