Day 2: Thursday, September 24 - Praiano | Amalfi Coast Arrive in Rome, meet your Italian tour manager, and depart by private motor coach for the Amalfi Coast. Arrive in the village of Praiano, check into hotel and explore the beautiful grounds. Ample time to soak up the spectacular coastline view, before a enjoying a Welcome Dinner and cooking presentation from the local chef. During the meal, Teresa and Dcn. Dominic will introduce the city and surrounding area. Overnight in Praiano, nestled in the Amalfi Coast. (D)
Day 3: Friday, September 25 - Positano / Villa Reception After breakfast, depart for the cliffside village of Positano, known for its pebble beachfront and steep, narrow streets lined with boutiques and cafes. Witness the beauty of Chiesa di Santa Maria Assunta and celebrate Mass, followed by a tour to admire the 12th century Black Madonna. Then, take the afternoon for time on your own to explore this coastal town, shop, or relax on the beach. Cherish the opportunity of visiting a local villa overlooking the coast for an apéritif and meet a local residence and friend of Teresa & Dcn. Dominic. Return to Praiano for dinner on own and overnight.
Day 4: Saturday, September 26 - Amalfi This morning, take a breathtaking drive along the Amalfi Coast, one of the most beautiful roads in the world. Each winding turn reveals a dazzling and unforgettable view of the coastline and sea. Stop in Amalfi and visit the Cathedral of Amalfi, dedicated to St. Andrew, whose relics and crypt are located here. Continue to Ravello, which is nestled 1,110 feet above the sea. Rooftop lunch with a mesmerizing view followed by time at leisure in Ravello. Return to Praiano for dinner on own and overnight in Praiano.
Day 5: Sunday, September 27 - Praiano Free Day Today will be completely at leisure in Praiano. Celebrate Mass at the Church of San Luca Evangelista dating back to 1123. After, you may desire to have a day at Marina di Praia beach. Although relatively small, its charm remains big. The crystal clear water is warm and outlined by tiny rocks. The narrow strip of pearly-white sand beach is perfect for soaking up the sun. Otherwise, take the day to shop and explore. Overnight in Praiano.
Day 6: Monday, September 28 - Capri Check out of your hotel in Praiano this morning and enjoy a scenic boat ride over to the island of Capri. Celebrate Mass at Chiesa di San Costanzo, one of the oldest churches on the island, named after the patron saint of the island, San Costanzo. After Mass, depart for the Villa of San Michele and experience the remarkable collection of treasures; two-thousand-year-old sculptures, antique masterpieces and a garden of exotic flowers. Treat your palate to a group lunch relishing the local cuisine. Next, take the chair lift to the top of Mt. Solerno and enjoy an afternoon to yourselves overlooking the island and Bay of Naples. Check into your hotel in Capri and enjoy an evening at leisure and dinner on your own. Overnight in Capri.
Day 7: Tuesday, September 29 - Coastline Boat Tour After breakfast experience a private boat charter. Witness the beauty of the Amalfi Coast by sea. Spend the morning touring up and down the coastline, soaking in the sun and the unbelievable scenery. Conclude with a Limoncello tasting. Farewell dinner this evening and overnight in Capri.
Day 8: Wednesday, September 30 - Montecasino | Rome Following breakfast, check out of the hotel and depart Capri for Rome. Stop to celebrate Mass and tour Montecassino Abbey, a spectacular Benedictine Abbey, on the top of a mountain. This monastery was founded and built by St. Benedict (patron saint of Europe) around AD 529 on the remains of a Roman fortification. Continue to Rome. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and enjoy an evening at leisure with dinner on you own. Overnight in Rome.
Day 9 -Thursday, October 1 - Return This morning, transfer to Rome airport for return flights home.
Optional Extension: Day 9 - Thursday, October 1 - Rome | Christian Rome Depart this morning for a sightseeing tour with focus on "Christian Rome." Celebrate Mass at St Mary Major, one of the oldest shrines dedicated to the Blessed Virgin and contains a relic from the manger of the infant Jesus. Visit the Basilica of the St John in Lateran, the former residence of the Popes prior to their return to Rome in 1377. Conclude at the recently restored Holy Steps, climbed by Christ in Jerusalem. The evening is at your leisure and dinner on your own. Overnight in Rome.
Day 10: Friday, October 2 - Rome | St. Peter’s Basilica & Vatican Museum This morning, celebrate Mass at St. Peter’s Basilica followed by a tour. Visit the Vatican Museum and the Sistine Chapel, where you will view some of the most inspiring works of art, including Michelangelo's magnificent fresco of the Last Judgment. Afternoon is at your leisure for final exploration on your own. Farewell Dinner and overnight in Rome.
Day 11: Saturday, October 3- Return to USA Depart to airport for independent return flights home
