Sul sagrato della Basilica di Santa Trofimena, alla presenza di tutti i sindaci della Costa d’Amalfi, del senatore Alfonso Andria, del Presidente della Provincia di Salerno Giuseppe Canfora, del Prefetto di Alessandria Romilda Tafuri e del Presidente del Gusta Minori Corporation Antonio Porpora, il vulcanico professor Giuseppe Liuccio ha ripercorso la storia della sua vita che l’ha portato, per la prima volta, ad Amalfi in qualità di docente di lettere del locale liceo e fu “amore a prima vista, innamoramento che dura ancora oggi”; da quel momento, infatti, ha partecipato con slancio e gioia in maniera attiva alla promozione turistica di tutto il comprensorio amalfitano, diventando a tutti gli effetti cittadino della costiera, come è stato giustamente sottolineato dal rappresentante della conferenza dei sindaci. Un ricordo commosso, poi, è stato rivolto al compianto Ezio Falcone, gastronomo e cultore della storia del territorio, pioniere della riscoperta degli antichi sapori della Costiera Amalfitana e artefice, con gli altri, dei successi ottenuti dal Premio Internazionale di Letteratura Enogastronomica.
