Amalfi Coast is crossed by Strada Statale 163 Amalfitana (world-famous known as Amalfi Drive), a 50km (30 miles) stretch of road from north to south. If we take the two entrance points to the Amalfi Coast with Sorrento in the north and Salerno in the south, the road goes through the towns in this order: Positano | Praiano | Amalfi | Atrani | Minori | Maiori | Cetara | Vietri Sul Mare It's important to know the order as that would make exploring the towns a bit easier. A Sorrento, invece, Dino Risi girò Pane, amore e... con Sophia Loren e Vittorio De Sica. E John Huston scelse Ravello per ambientare Il tesoro dell’Africa con Humphrey Bogart e Gina Lollobrigida. Un legame, quello fra cinema e Costiera che continua anche oggi. Come dimostra P Amalfi il fatto che Christopher Nolan ha voluto come set per alcune scene del suo ultimo film di spionaggio, Tenet. Oggi, di celebrity e divi di Hollywood, da queste parti ce ne sono persino più che in passato. Lo sanno tutti ma nessuno, paparazzi a parte, li vede. POSITANO BY JOHN STEINBECK I first heard of Positano from Alberto Moravia. It was very hot in Rome. He said, “Why don’t you go down to Positano on the Amalfi Coast? It is one of the fine places of Italy”. Later John McKnight of United States Information Service told me the same thing. He had spent a year there working on a book. Half a dozen people echoed this. Positano kind of moved in on us and we found ourselves driving down to Naples on our way. To an American, Italian traffic is at first just down-right nonsense. It seems hysterical, it follows no rule. You cannot figure what the driver ahead or behind or beside you is going to do next and he usually does it. But there are other hazards besides the driving technique. There are the motor scooters, thousands of them, which buzz at you like mosquitoes. There is a tiny little automobile called “Topolino” or “mouse” which hides in front of larger cars; there are gigantic trucks and tanks in which most of Italy’s goods are moved; and finally there are assorted livestock, hay wagons, bicycles, lone horses and mules out for a stroll, and to top it all there are the pedestrians who walk blissfully on the highways never looking about. To give this madness more color, everyone blows the horn all the time. This deafening, screaming, milling, tire-screeching mess is ordinary Italian highway traffic. My drive from Venice to Rome had given me a horror of it amounting to cowardice.

I paesi che compongono la Costiera Amalfitana sono : Vietri sul mare, Cetara, Minori, Maiori, Scala, Ravello, Atrani, Almafi, Conca dei Marini, Furore, Praiano e Positano e molto vicino a qui troviamo l'isola di Capri. Percorso di 3 giorni lungo la Costiera Amalfitana Ed è per questo che programmeremo un soggiorno di tre giorni per farvi conoscere questa meravigliosa terra. In questa breve guida vi mostreremo i luoghi più belli e favolosi che potete visitare in Costiera Amalfitana. Nel nostro percorso andremo da Vietri sul Mare a Sorrento. Abbiamo pianificato un percorso di circa 60 km da Salerno a Sorrento che vi permetterà di vedere tutti i paesi, la maggior parte dei quali si vedono molto velocemente o dagli altri punti di vista, d'altra parte varrà la pena passare qualche ora in essi.
