Coventry Cathedral Prayer Cycles Please join us as we pray for our Cathedral, the life of the wider Diocese of , our partners in the Community of the Cross of Nails and our brothers and sisters across the world in the Anglican Communion.

The residential Bishops’ Advisory Panel (BAP) has been moved to an online platform during the COVID-19 pandemic. The decision has been taken that it will stay online until the end of July 2021. One of the elements that we are missing and would like to find a way to include is that of worship. To that end we wondered whether you would be willing to pray for candidates attending an ‘online BAP’ in your live-streamed worship? We will invite you for 2-3 weeks of the year to include prayers for vocations and prayers for the groups of candidates attending an online BAP that week (and we will offer brief resources in case that would be helpful.) We will then tell candidates which cathedral is praying for vocations in their week and some might join you via your live-streamed worship. We will let our candidates know that the panel will be prayed for at your 8.30am Morning Worship service on the weeks beginning 22 February, 21 June.

Prayer for National Online Discernment Panel

Gracious Father We thank you for your calling on all of our lives and your charge to be ambassadors for you in this world. Today we pray for all those who are seeking to discern whether God is calling them to ordained ministry. We pray especially for those who are attending a National Online Discernment Panel this week. May they know your Holy Spirit empowering them and enabling them to speak eloquently of their experience of you, their lives, their vocation. We pray too for their Diocesan Directors of Ordinands and the team of National Advisers working with them, that you would bestow on them your spirit of wisdom and discernment. We pray this prayer in Jesus’ name Amen

Vocations Collect

God our Father, Lord of all the world, through your Son you have called us into the fellowship of your universal Church: hear our prayer for your faithful people that in their vocation and ministry each may be an instrument of your love, through our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen.
