Thank you all parents, staff and students who attended Technology Night at Northwest Elementary in November. The students really enjoy showing you all how much they know about technology. We are fortu- nate to be able to have many iPads, iPods, and mac labs to help our stu- dents keep up with the latest technology has to offer education. Many prizes were given away including: $25.00 to Mr. Rios, the use of a laptop for a year goes to Mr. Bailey’s classroom, and Mrs. Hanson’s classroom. About 25 prizes were given away through drawings including 2nd price to Kyle Stokvis, and 1st price to Brooklyn Lowery.

Holidays

The holiest of all holidays are those Kept by ourselves in silence and apart; The secret anniversaries of the heart, When the full river of feeling overflows;-- The unclouded to their close; The sudden joys that out of darkness start As flames from ashes; swift desires that dart Like swallows singing down each wind that blows! White as the gleam of a receding sail, White as a cloud that floats and fades in air, White as the whitest lily on a stream, These tender memories are;--a fairy tale Of some enchanted land we know not where, But lovely as a landscape in a dream. DECEMBER 2013 P A G E 3 Santa’s Secret Shop

The LaSalle Elementary School District PTA is once again offering Santa’s Secret Shop for our students to purchase gifts for the holidays. Kids’ Korner Gift Shoppes has been chosen to offer our children the oppor- tunity to purchase gifts for their moms, dad, brothers, sisters, and friends this year. The Shop will be set up in the Media Center at Northwest Elementary on De- cember 5th and 6th and at Jackson School on December 4th. The gift items are “kid priced” (pocket change to moderately priced department store type gifts). Most of the items are in the $1.00 to $5.00 range. It is our hope that through this program our children will learn about handling money and receive the joy of being able to select a special gift for a loved one.
