Children’s Literature Bookshelf: http://www.gutenberg.org/wiki/Children%27s_Literature_%28Bookshelf%29 This are children’s classics that are part of public domain (freely available). As you scroll down, books will be listed by author. This site is part of “Project Gutenberg”.
Classic Reader: www.classicreader.com One can browse by categories: fiction, non-fiction, young readers, poetry, Shakespeare, drama, short stories, and classical. This site currently hosts 3810 titles and 358 authors.
DailyLit: https://www.dailylit.com/ The reader can sign up for “15 minutes of fiction every day” or read books ranging from the classic to science fiction to children’s books. There may be a charge for some items.
GoogleBooks: www.books.google.com This service will search the full text of books and bring back results with your search terms. Some books may be downloaded or read online. Links will be provided for others for loan or purchase. Readers can also search for magazines in this collection. An amazing collection!
HathiTrust: www.hathitrust.org HathiTrust is a partnership of academic & research institutions, offering a collection of millions of titles digitized from libraries around the world. Resources contain 1,042,839 total volumes, 5,760,686 book titles, 287,826 serials titles, 3,864,993,650 serial(magazines & journals) titles, 495 terabytes with 33% of the total in the public domain.
Magic Keys: http://www.magickeys.com/books/ Magic Keys is a small collection of children’s books offered by age/reading level. Some fun activities are also located on the site.
Many Books: www.manybooks.net There are more than 29,000 eBooks available for Kindle, Nook, iPad and most other eReaders, and they're all free! If you still can't decide what to read you might want to browse through some covers to see what strikes your fancy. Audio books are also available.
Project Gutenberg: www.gutenberg.org Project Gutenberg offers over 42,000 free ebooks: choose among free epub books, free kindle books, download them or read them online. Books were digitized and diligently proofread each item with the help of thousands of volunteers. No fee or registration is required, but if the reader finds Project Gutenberg useful, they will take donations.
World Public Library: http://worldlibrary.net/ World Public Library contains five collections: eBook Academic, eBook Library, Graphic Novel, Journals & Magazines, and Audio eBook. Books can be downloaded to your reading device. Tutorials are available to help with the process. Total collections size is 124,546.
