6th IEEE International Conference on Logistics, Informatics and Services Sciences (LISS’2016) which is held in Sydney, Australia and Beijing, China, and hosted by IEEE Technical Committee on Logistics Informatics and Industrial Security Systems. The International Center for Informatics Research of Beijing Jiaotong University (ICIR), China Center for Industrial Security Research of Beijing Jiaotong University (CCISR), and School of Economics and Management of Beijing Jiaotong University (SEM), in cooperation with the Institute of Transport and Logistics Studies in the University of Sydney Business School, the University of Sydney, Australia, Informatics Research Centre, University of Reading, United Kingdom, and supported by IEEE SMC, the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), K. C. Wong Education Foundation (Hong Kong), Sino-EU Doctoral School for Sustainability Engineering (Program in Logistics, Information, Management and Service Science), EU FP7 (7th Framework Programme), Beijing Logistics Informatics Research Base, and Key Laboratory of Logistics Management and Technology of Beijing. This conference is a prime international forum for both researchers and industry practitioners to exchange latest fundamental advances in state-of-art and practice of logistics, informatics, service operations and service sciences. It has four simultaneous tracks, which cover different aspects and include: Service Management, Logistics Management, Information Management, and Engineering Management. Papers published in each track describe state-of-art research works that are often oriented towards real world applications and highlight the benefits of related methods and techniques for the emerging field of logistics, informatics and service science development. LISS’2016 received 573 paper submissions from 13 countries and regions. 281 papers were accepted and published after strict peer reviews. The total acceptance ratio is 49%. Additionally, a number of invited talks, presented by internationally recognized experts in different areas, have positively contributed to reinforce the overall quality of the conference and to provide a deep understanding of related areas.
