Wong Education Foundation (Hong Kong) Springer Aims Information and communication technologies have been providing an effective network infrastructure and development platform for logistics and service operations. To meet the needs of consumers and promote core competences of firms, new types of services will be required. LISS’2013 is a prime international forum for both researchers and practitioners to exchange the latest fundamental advances in the state of the art and practice of logistics, informatics and service sciences. Both researchers and practitioners will discuss academic issues, seize future development opportunities, master the subject developing trends and exchange the latest academic thinking thoughts. LISS’ 2011, 2012 were held in Beijing by Beijing Jiaotong University, and sponsored by University of Reading (UK) and The Pennsylvania State University (USA). About 200 authors from 26 countries attended LISS 2011 and 163 authors from 12 countries attended LISS2012. The proceedings have been submitted for index of CPCI-S (former ISTP) and EI Compendex. In addition, selected best papers were recommended to publish in some respected international journals like Journal of Industrial Engineering and Management, Journal of Electronic Commerce in Organizations etc. LISS’2013 will be hosted by Beijing Jiaotong University, cooperated with Henley Business School, University of Reading (UK) & China Center for Industrial Security Research, and held on 21-24 August, 2013 in the United Kingdom with satellite sessions in Beijing, China. The theme of this conference is “New Challenges of Management Sciences under Low-Carbon Economy”. The topics of the conference are related to service science, service innovation, service engineering, service marketing, ERP, E-commerce, low-carbon logistics, low-carbon transportation, green construction, enterprises informatics, logistics informatics, logistics and supply chain management, information and communication technology, Internet of things, Internet technology and applications, service informatics, industrial security and other related areas. This conference will be sponsored by Springer-Verlag, one of the world’s largest scientific publishers. It has a history of over 150 years and famous for its academic publications. Full research papers as well as work-in-progress reports are welcome. Authors are required to certify that their papers are original and not published yet. Simultaneous submission to any other conference, workshop or journal is not allowed. The manuscript must be submitted in the prescribed format (Microsoft Word and LaTeX templates are available on the conference website). Publications Accepted papers, presented at the conference by one of the authors, will be published in the Proceedings of LISS’2013. Acceptance will be based on quality, relevance and originality.
