Tianjin Travel Guide Travel in Tianjin Tianjin (tiān jīn 天津), referred to as "Jin (jīn 津)" for short, is one of the four municipalities directly under the Central Government of China. It is 130 kilometers southeast of Beijing (běi jīng 北京), serving as Beijing's gateway to the Bohai Sea (bó hǎi 渤海). It covers an area of 11,300 square kilometers and there are 13 districts and five counties under its jurisdiction. The total population is 9.52 million. People from urban Tianjin speak Tianjin dialect, which comes under the mandarin subdivision of spoken Chinese. Not only is Tianjin an international harbor and economic center in the north of China, but it is also well-known for its profound historical and cultural heritage. History People started to settle in Tianjin in the Song Dynasty (sòng dài 宋代). By the 15th century it had become a garrison town enclosed by walls. It became a city centered on trade with docks and land transportation and important coastal defenses during the Ming (míng dài 明代) and Qing (qīng dài 清代) dynasties. After the end of the Second Opium War in 1860, Tianjin became a trading port and nine countries, one after the other, established concessions in the city. Historical changes in past 600 years have made Tianjin an unique city with a mixture of ancient and modem in both Chinese and Western styles. After China implemented its reforms and open policies, Tianjin became one of the first coastal cities to open to the outside world. Since then it has developed rapidly and become a bright pearl by the Bohai Sea. -

Guaranteed Bonds due 2022 Unconditionally and irrevocably guaranteed by Tianjin Rail Transit Group (Hong Kong) Co., Limited (incorporated with limited liability in Hong Kong) and with the benefit of a Keepwell and Liquidity Support Deed and a Deed of Equity Interest Purchase Undertaking provided by Tianjin Rail Transit Group Co., Ltd. (incorporated with limited liability in the People’s Republic of China) Issue Price for the Bonds: 99.443 per cent. The 1.625 per cent. Guaranteed Bonds due 2022 in the aggregate principal amount of €400,000,000 (the “Bonds”) will be issued by Rail Transit International Development Company Limited (軌道國際發展有限公司) (the “Issuer”) and will be unconditionally and irrevocably guaranteed (the “Guarantee”) by Tianjin Rail Transit Group (Hong Kong) Co., Limited (the “Guarantor”). The Bonds bear interest on their outstanding principal amount from and including 22 March 2018 at the rate of 1.625 per cent. per annum. The Bonds constitute direct, unsubordinated, unconditional and (subject to Condition 4(a) of the Terms and Conditions of the Bonds) unsecured obligations of the Issuer and shall at all times rank pari passu and without any preference among themselves. The payment obligations of the Issuer under the Bonds shall, save for such exceptions as may be provided by applicable legislation and subject to Condition 4(a) of the Terms and Conditions of the Bonds, at all times rank at least equally with all the Issuer’s other present and future unsecured and unsubordinated obligations. -

The construction of subways has an external impact on the urban environment. Among them, the most important acceleration function lies in the property values of housing near subway stations. Tianjin, the largest open coastal city in Northern China, is selected as the subject of the research in this paper by virtue of its unique background. The Hedonic Pricing Model is used in analysing the change in the value of the properties located within 1,000 metres of completed subway line 3 stations. Using the theories of land rent and land location, and a model of the impact of urban traffic on the surrounding real estate prices, we analyse the sphere of influence of Tianjin Metro Line 3 on real estate prices. Finally, the paper stresses the importance of urban construction and subway building and finds that different development strategies should be used according to the characteristics of the subway in various regions of the city. -

Urban public transportation had profound impacts on urban construction and on the formation of urban structure in Tianjin from 1902 to 1949. Based on the background of urban development, this paper firstly divides the evolution process of public transportation represented by tramways and buses into three periods from the perspectives of the distribution, quantity and operation status of public transportation lines. It then analyses the strong influence of public transportation on urban roads construction from the view of the increased municipal income, road widening, improvement of pavement quality, and bridges construction and maintenance. Finally, by using qualitative and quantitative analysis and superposing the related statistical data with the historical map, it analyses the relationship among public transportation line density, land value partition and basic urban structure, and certifies they were highly relative. In conclusion, the paper argues that Tianjin urban public transport network was based on trams and supplemented by buses, and not only planning ideas but also advanced municipal technologies from the West like public transportation system were also indispensable supports in the process of urban modernization in Chinese modern treaty ports. Project Background Tianjin As urban development accelerates there is a need for early establishment of a complete rail transit system to address urban transport issues and support urban development. The planned Tianjin rail transit network consists of 4 commuter lines (520km) and 18 urban lines (695km) totaling 1215km. Based on passenger flow characteristics, Metro Lines 5 and 6 are combined into a loop to facilitate the formation of a multi-center city and a complete "loop + spoke" rail network while making rail transit become the backbone mode of transport in the city proper.
