349 Draft Ewes Smaller entry but the trade was still fierce, with again a lot of plain Hill Bred Ewes on offer, top on the day was £89 for Texel’s from Winston Grigg, Trengune. Numerous other pens £75 to £80.

224 Fat Lambs Weight Top Average Smaller entry saw the good meat Per Head Per Kilo Per Head Per Kilo Lambs meeting a stronger trade, 32.1-39 68.20 175 67 174 top per kilo being 187p, for a 39.1-45.5 82.20 187 74 174.1 smart pen of 44kgs £82.20, from 45.6-52 82.50 173 80.60 168 Steve Goodman, Greystone, Overall 82.50 187 75 174.1 . Several other pens around 185p. Top per head on the day was £82.50 from two vendors, Eric Cornelius, and Catherine Wall.

124 Store Lambs A much faster trade met with nearly all small and average framed lambs on offer, top being £58 from R P Rolling’s, St Winnow, followed by Abel Bros of Tavistock, who realised £57.50 for two of their pens of Suffolk x.

240 Cattle at Hallworthy saw a slight rise overall in the trade from previous weeks. There was plenty of quality from beginning to end. Top call this week went to S E D Rail of , with a single South Steer with tremendous depth and fleshing throughout, which went on to achieve £1160. The Backway Family from came in next again with tremendous quality in their Cattle, their first Limousin Steer with a fleshy carcase realising £1045, and a younger showy British Blue touching out at £965. EG & NB Quinn of Marshgate saw their outstanding run of Aberdeen Angus and Montbeliarde x Cattle with superb fleshing and scope, realise a top of £985, for a pair of Name Sire Aberdeen Angus Steers, his next three at £920, and top Montbeliarde Steers to £830. New vendor Mr P Green of Stithians saw his first outing of Stabilizer Steers top out at £940, for a 16 month Steer with great potential, and his next pair touching out at £895. Mr R Kempthorn of saw his front end of Dairy x British Blue Cattle top out at £895 for a pen of three. T C Allen of Roche saw his best of a tidy run of Cattle to £890, for a single Name Sire Aberdeen Angus. W Smith of with a few Dairy x Steers realised a top of £885, for a pair of Limousin x Steers at 17 months with plenty of growth. Mr Rail of North Petherwin topped this section with a pair of South Devon Heifers which topped to £995 and a single fleshy Heifer to £950. W C Mably of ran in close with a tremendous run of Limousin x Heifers, 30 in total, his top a superbly fleshed and shaped pen of three Heifers topping out at £990 and a younger showy Heifer to £870. Mr Quinn ran in close with a single Montbeliarde Heifer to £850, and a pen of five Aberdeen Angus, Name Sire to £845.
