Ballade, Op. 47 in A Major Frederic Chopin b Pianist Sandra Rivers enjoys a reputation today as one of the foremost (1810-1849) performing artists of her generation. She has concertized throughout the world and has appeared at the Mostly Mozart Festival at Lincoln Center, Tanglewood, Aspen, the Schleswig-Holstein Festival, the from Études—Tableaux Sergei Rachmaninoff Kennedy Center and on the Great Performers Series at Lincoln Center. Op. 39 No. 8 in D Minor (1873-1943) She has performed in most of the major halls in the world. Op. 39 No. 9 in D Major In addition to her solo career, Ms. Rivers has become widely known for her concert partnerships with many of the world’s leading soloists including Itzhak Perlman, Kathleen Battle, Gil Shaham, Joshua Bell, Symphonic Etudes, Op. 13 Robert Schumann Cho-Liang Lin, Kyung-Wha Chung, Sarah Chang and Nadja Salerno- (1810-1856) Sonnenberg, among others.
Her collaborations with Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg and Sarah Chang have taken her twice to the “Tonight Show” with Johnny Carson and Jay Leno respectively.
In recent seasons she has appeared with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, the Oakland East Bay Symphony Orchestra, Michael Morgan, conducting and with the Wilmington Community Orchestra (Delaware). She has been a guest artist with the Scandia Quartet and with the Serafin Quartet.
This season she will give solo recitals at Palm Beach Atlantic University in West Palm Beach, Florida and on the Premier Pianos Recital Series in Cincinnati. She will perform four duo-recitals with violist, Nokuthula Ngwenyama. She will appear twice as guest artist with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra Chamber Players.
She has recordings on the following labels: Teldec, RCA Victor Red Seal, EMI/Angel, Pony Canyon, CBS Masterworks, Musical Heritage and Zafiro (Spain).
Ms. Rivers is currently on the keyboard faculty of the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and she is a Steinway Artist.
