Hello all,

Well…we nearly made it to half term in one piece!

It has been an interesting half term to say the least with lots of challenges and learning but I can safely say that it has been one of the best half terms I have ever had at South Wilford. It has truly been a joy to see how the whole school community have responded so positively to the changes and adaptations. The children have been incredible, they have been adaptable, resilient and most importantly happy. It was a fitting way to end the whole term to see the children and staff wearing their brightest clothes for ‘Bright Friday’ and it really reflected the feeling around school.

We have joined in with a wonderful Harvest Festival celebration today with the other three faith schools in the Trust ( c of E, St Mary’s and Zaytouna). We successfully zoomed into all of the classes across the schools and we all shared our learning and what Harvest means to us. It was wonderful to come together as a wider school family.

As we go off on our half term break, I want to wish you all good health and thank you for all you do to support the school. I am so proud to be leading the school through this time and wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.

Sending prayers and best wishes, Scores on the doors….. Natalie Aldridge (Acting Head Teacher) th 17 January 2020

Whole School Finally……Please be aware that it is an expectation of Transform Trust that we are kept informed of any new cases of Covid-19 within the school community. If your childAttendance or anyone in your– 97 ho%usehold does test positive for the virus over half-term, please do let me know via email as soon as you can. Epic! Bonfire Lunch On Thursday 5th November, we will be holding a special lunch (see menu attached) and all children are invited to join in if they would like to. The lunch will need to be ordered via Evolve and for children in KS2, the cost will be £2.25.

Shoebox Appeal Despite all of the uncertainty surrounding so many of our annual traditions this year, we have decided that we will still be collecting shoeboxes for Samaritan’s Purse. From Monday 2nd November, there will be labels and boxes available to collect from reception. However, the deadline will be quite tight (Friday 13th November) so if you think you would like to donate a box, it might be worth getting some bits and pieces together over the autumn break. Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to receiving your shoeboxes.
