This letter is intended to give you an outline of the work to be completed, the likely timescales and how it will impact upon you. The work is estimated to take 5 weeks to complete and whilst there will inevitably be some disruption, we have worked very closely with the contractors to ensure this will be minimised. Regular dialogue will continue throughout the project and we will communicate with you as necessary. The project involves a fairly sizeable excavation which is required to house a new holding chamber. We are expecting plant and machinery to arrive on Monday and the actual excavation will begin on Tuesday 3 October. The excavation, piling of corrugated reinforcement panels and back-filling will last, on an intermittent basis, for approximately 3 weeks. Unfortunately and inevitably there will be some noise pollution and to this end, we have agreed that our contractors will not work before 7:30am or after 4:30pm between Monday and Friday. If, due to exceptional circumstances they need to work on a Saturday (which is unlikely) we will let you know. There will be no contractors on site on a Sunday. Initially, we will have earth moving lorries on site. Indications are that there could be as many as 5 each day for the first 2 to 3 days. We will avoid all times of peak traffic flow and can offer assurance that the contractors will ensure the village remains clean at all times. Many of you will be wondering why this project could not have been completed during the summer holidays. Regrettably, numerous technical issues around ground conditions and such meant that the planning process became very protracted. Monday is the Discovering Together, Fullness of Life Captivated by Learning Confident in Christ Committed to Excellence earliest time we could begin the project which we are keen to complete before the winter is upon us. Please do get in touch by e-mail, text, telephone or by calling in to school if you have any concerns whatsoever. Between the school and the contractors, I am sure we will have the answers. With grateful thanks in advance for your support. Yours sincerely Mandy Marsh (Mrs) Chair of Governors Discovering Together, Fullness of Life Captivated by Learning Confident in Christ Committed to Excellence .
