Dear FISD Elementary Parent/Guardian,

We are excited to inform you that our school has enrolled with STOPit!

STOPit is an online ANONYMOUS reportng tool designed to deter and mitgate bullying, cyber abuse, and other inappropriate behaviors, consistng of an app and a back-end incident management system for school administrators.

Elementary parents can REPORT incidents to school contacts anonymously. Messenger can be used to engage in anonymous two-way communicaton with school contacts.

Both Report and Messenger empower parents to stand up for their children. Elementary parents have the power to help put an end to harmful and inappropriate behavior they see online through social media and other means. They can use STOPit to reach out for help if their child is facing a per- sonal crisis or experiencing bullying, abuse, or are otherwise in need of assistance. Our goal with STOPit is to create safer, kinder, school communites both online and of. No student informaton is needed to use STOPit. The only way personally identfable informaton will be ac- cessible through STOPit is if a student voluntarily includes it within the content of a report or message.

Both our school and STOPit are commited to protectng the privacy of student data. STOPit is a signatory to the Student Privacy Pledge, spearheaded by the Future of Privacy Forum and the Sofware & Informaton In- dustry Associaton. You may review STOPit’s Privacy Policy for details, including more informaton on how anonymous reportng works.

The STOPit link can be found on our campus website.

More informaton and resources can be found online at stopitsolu- tons.com.

Sincerely,

Alex Mira Principal, Sem Elementary

Bringing Items to School To protect our instructional time from interruptions, please leave all drop-off items in the grade level bins outside the front office with students first and last name on item. Teachers automatically check the bins on the way to lunch. If your child needs an item before lunch, notify the front office and they will inform the teacher.

No Pets on Campus It is an FISD policy that pets are not to be brought on school campus our grounds at any time during the school day by par- ents or employees.

Dress Code

For safety concerns, tennis shoes must be worn during physical education class. Flip-Flops will not be worn in P.E.

PLEASE label your child’s jacket, coat, scarf, mittens, lunch box, back pack, etc. with their FIRST and LAST name.

The district also prohibits any clothing or grooming that, in the principal’s judg- ment, may reasonably be expected to cause disruption of or interference with normal operations.

Lunch Time Visitors

Lunch time visitors may start joining us after the second week of school. It is very important for our students to learn the school rules, procedures, and expectations during the first two weeks.

Visitor Procedures: 1. Check in at the office and get a Visitor’s Sticker.

2. Designated parent tables are located in the back of the cafeteria.

3. The Texas Department of Agriculture does not permit parents to bring food at lunch time for any other child other than their own. Please help us monitor this guideline from the state.

4. If your child has a food allergy, please notify your child’s teacher and the school nurse, immediately. A peanut free table is available for any student with a nut allergy. Please visit FISD’s Child Nutrition website for more information and for the proper forms to complete.

We follow the state guidelines regarding regulations and allowable foods at school.
