Christmas in the anglo-saxon world and in 6ème (5 ème ?)

Goal : Christmas party > songs in German & English + posters / cards/crackers… + food

(3 countries : England, the USA, Australia + Germany)

II Enjoy 6 ème p 41-42 : Christmas picture

1- What is on the picture ? > use the vocab from Brainstorming 2- Christmas colors ? (what color is… ?) > Christmas colors ? > green, red, yellow… 3- Work on préposition (next to, on, under…) 4- Guess what it is ! > Describe 3 elements which are on the picture : give the colors and say where it is with Prepositions Under, on…). Ask the question « What is it ? » and your classmates will guess. > ORAL Ex : It’s on the tree and it’s red. What is it ? 5- Lesson in copybook + Handout (p 41) : In the house on Christmas 6- The green tree is next to the fire place. III Before Christmas and on Christmas day : « Christmas Vacation » trailer

Objective : What are the traditions before and on Christmas days ? 1- Watch the trailer and react using the vocab seen before. 2- Put the comments on the board > organise the comments/words by chronological order > 1st : sing Christmas songs, Christmas spirit (joy, be happy…), snow, cold weather, (find) a tree, car, family…, 2 nd : decorate… 3rd : family arrives… 4th : buy presents, hide presents… 5th : > turkey… 3- Watch again, pause and complete, finish the organization. 4- Lesson : table presenting Christmas in a chronological order, based on the trailer of Christmas Vacation By : C.
