Sydney Airport Traffic Performance April 2021

Total passenger traffic in April 2021 was 1,542,000 passengers, down 58.1% on the corresponding period in 2019.

Domestic passenger traffic totalled 1,489,000 in April 2021, down 34.8% on the corresponding period in 2019.

53,000 international passengers passed through Sydney Airport in April 2021. This is a 21.7% increase on the prior corresponding period in 2020, primarily driven by the commencement of two-way quarantine-free Trans-Tasman travel from 19 April 2021. International passenger traffic remains 96.2% down on the corresponding period in 2019.

The downturn in all other international passenger traffic is expected to persist until government travel restrictions are eased.
