This circular, the twenty-seventh ^ annual Directory of Officials and Organiza- tions Concerned with the Protection of Birds and Game, is issued for the convenience of game authorities, bird-protection organizations, «and others in procuring information concerning game conditions and game law^s. The organ- ization and personnel of governmental establishments of this country, Canada, Newfoundland, and Mexico concerned with game matters are given, together with the names and addresses of officials of state-wide game and bird protective associations and societies, and of the principal national organizations interested m bird protection, including the advisory board, migratory-bird treaty act Changes in the personnel of State game officials since the last directory (Department Circular 360) was issued have been made in Arizona, California Indiana, New Hampshire, Oregon, , Vermont, and Virginia. Thé only legislative change afeecting game administration was made in Virginia wehere the State Department of Game and Inland Fisheries was placed under a nonsalaried commission of five members, wdth a salaried executive secretary in direct charge. This reorganization has effected a separation of game and inland fisheries from commercial fisheries, a combination that had continued since 1916. Three appointments have been made to the advisory board, migra- tory-bird treaty act, to fill vacancies caused by death and resignation. Several new associations interested in conservation have been added, and others that have ceased to function have been omitted. Among the organiza- tions added to the list are the Associated Sportsmen's Clubs of California, the

Jack Miner League, the Fish and Game Protective Association of British Columbia, and State divisions of the Izaak Walton League of ximerica. The international committee for bird protection now includes representatives from Germany, Austria, and Czechoslovakia, in addition to those previously included. The names and addresses of United States game wardens, who enforce the migratory-bird treaty and Lacey Acts, have been included for the first time. Violations of the acts may be reported direct to these wardens or to the Bureau of Biological Survey. m ^_„ Information concerning national and state-wide organizations interested m the protection of game is desired, including any changes in the personnel, for the use of the department and for necessary revisions in the next edition of the directory. Local organizations are not included in the scope of this directory. Persons wishing detailed information pertaining to State game and fish laws should communicate with the game ofiicial of the State in w-hich they are interested. Game laws are published in pamphlet form in all the States. Summaries of the game and fur laws of the United States, Canada. Newfound- land and Mexico are published annually by the United States Department of Agriculture—for the season of 1926-27 in Farmers' Bulletins Nos. 1505 and 1515, respectively.
