THIRTY SEVENTH DAY. December 3rd

Star Name: MISSIONERY STAR It means… that Mary is the first to bring the Good News to the whole world.

REFLECTION: The mission for all of Jesus’s disciples, including Mary his Mother, is to proclaim the Good News to all mankind. The Virgin Mary begins that mission with her visit to her cousin Elizabeth, then with the shepherds, the Wise men, the disciples, the Church at Pentecost, and her many appearances. The Virgin of Guadalupe’s mission to the Americas, brought the Good News of her son and was greeted with openness by the Mexican people because she came as someone like themselves, bringing them a message of love and hope.

Let us reflect on ways that we become active evangelizers.

Our Lady of Guadalupe chose San Juan Diego for his simplicity and not for his wisdom. ... "Listen, my son, the lowliest one, please understand that I have many servants and messengers whom I can entrust to carry my message and do my will, but it is absolutely necessary that you make this request and help me by being my mediator, so that my will be done "... In this mystery we ask Our Lady to help us to be intentional disciples, witnessing the Good News of Jesus Christ to our World

PRAYER: Our Lady of Guadalupe, Queen of the Angels and Mother of the Americas. We fly to you today as your beloved children. We ask you to intercede for us with your Son, as you did at the wedding in Cana. Pray for us, loving Mother, and gain for our nation and world, and for all our families and loved ones, the protection of your holy angels, that we may be spared the worst of this illness. For those already afflicted, we ask you to obtain the grace of healing and deliverance. Hear the cries of those who are vulnerable and fearful, wipe away their tears and help them to trust. In this time of trial and testing, teach all of us in the Church to love one another and to be patient and kind. Help us to bring the peace of Jesus to our land and to our hearts. We come to you with confidence, knowing that you truly are our compassionate mother, health of the sick, and cause of our joy. Shelter us under the mantle of your protection, keep us in the embrace of your arms, help us always to know the love of your Son, Jesus. Amen.

THIRTY EIGHTH DAY. December 4th

Star Name: ADMIRABLE STAR It means… that the Virgin Mary has many virtues, values and lifestyles that attract us.

REFLECTION: We admire Mary for her virtues, values, lifestyle and above all her YES to God. As we contemplate Mary, we are moved to imitate her extra ordinary example of a disciple of Christ. The Virgin of Guadalupe in her encounter with San Juan Diego, shows us countless admirable attributes such as her closeness to God’s people, her unconditional and patient love, her heart of mercy, her compassionate look, and her confidence.

We reflect on these values and virtues and try to emulate them.

Our Lady heals Juan Bernardino as a sign that she wants health and happiness for her people. ... "Hear and understand me, my son, the lowliest of all, that nothing can scare or afflict you; Do not let your heart be troubled, do not worry about your uncle's illness, he will not die. Be assured that he is already healed "

We pray to Our Lady in this mystery, that we mirror the admirable virtues of Mary in our own lives.

NOVENA TO OUR LADY OF GUADALUPE Day 2

Mother of divine grace you appeared to Saint Juan Diego standing on the moon and robed in a royal mantle adorned with stars, showing that you are Queen of Heaven and Earth, yet far from a haughty or distant Queen. With hands folded in supplication eyes cast downward in humility and compassion, you did not ask for a temple where you could be honored, but one where you could attend to the “weeping and sorrows of all the people of this land, and of the various people who love me” May all who are sorrowing due to abuse, violence, exploitation, neglect, and all sins against the dignity of life, fly to you, Mother, for comfort and hope. ONE Our Father, Hail Mary and Glory be.

THIRTY NINTH DAY. December 5th

Star Name: LIGHT STAR It means…that the Virgin Mary carried the Light, that was born in Bethlehem

REFLECTION: The Virgin Mary appeared to the Mexican people, on the Hillside of Tepeyac, on the winter solstice, on December 12, 1531, under the name of Guadalupe. The Virgin of Guadalupe presented her son Jesus to the indigenous people, as the sun or the light of the world. They understood that she brought the true God, the light of Christ to them.

Let us reflect on our own Baptism, where we received the light of Christ.

Mary leaves us her image to remind us of her tenderness, her love and her constant protection. San Juan Diego brought to the Our Lady of Heaven all the different roses that he cut in December. those who, as she took them in her hands and threw them on to his lap saying: "My son, the lowliest of them all, these roses is the sign that you will take to the bishop, you will tell him in my name that it is my will and that he has to fulfill it. You are my ambassador, and you are very trustworthy "

In this last mystery we ask Our Lady during this Advent season, that we will be the light for our families and friends.

Mother of God, your ribboned sash identified you as a pregnant woman, a woman who bore the Christ Child to a world in darkness and who through two millennia has borne the light and love of Christ to a world that has largely rejected Him. May the love of Your son awaken a hymn of thanksgiving and praise in all pregnant mothers, as happened long ago in the home of Elizabeth. FORTIETH DAY. December 6th

Star Name: TESTIMONY STAR It means… the Virgin Mary’s testimony of her YES to God

REFLECTION: The Virgin Mary is a very valuable witness to the fullness of the Times foretold in the Gospel. She is the first disciple of Jesus. She testifies to the truth of the Gospel. Mary’s appearance in Guadalupe gives us testimony of the messianic work that began in the New Continent. The words of the different apparitions of the Virgin of Guadalupe testify to the eternal love of the Father, the redemption offered by Jesus Christ, and the fire of the Holy Spirit that embraces the new Church of the American continent. Today we reflect on how we give testimony of the Good News.

Our Lady of Guadalupe brings a message of peace to her people. ... " To you, the lowliest of my children, know and understand, I am the always Virgin Mary, Mother of the true God by whom one lives; of the Creator, in whom everything is; And He is Lord of heaven and earth. I earnestly desire that a temple be erected here for him to show and give Him all my love, compassion, help and defense, for I am his Mother "...

In this mystery we are going to ask the Virgin Mary to help us to be mirrors of the Gospel for others

Virgin most wise, you chose a humble farmer to announce your motherly concern to the people of Mexico. Although Saint Juan Diego felt unequal to the mission that you gave him, you encouraged him to persevere. Faced with powerful anti-life forces today, we also feel unequal to the mission God has given us of building a culture of life and a civilization of love. Help us to persevere always in this great campaign for life, assured of your help and prayers. ONE Our father, Hail Mary and Glory Be.

Star Name: GRACIOUS STAR It means…that the words and desires of the Virgin Mary exemplified kindness, understanding, harmony, peace and love.

REFLECTION: The Virgin of Guadalupe was very kind to San Juan Diego. She spoke his language and adapted to his culture to help him feel like family. Mary by her presence modeled a peaceful calm, harmony and understanding. She was empowering San Juan Diego to assist her in Her mission. Let us reflect on the ways of Mary and be gracious for the wonderful examples of life and living that she has given us.

St. Juan Diego shares his humility and his Lowliest with Our Lady in the eyes of men. ... "I beg you, Madam and my little one, that you may entrust some of the well-known, respected and esteemed, to carry your message, so that they are believed, because I am a little man, I am a cordel, I am a ladder of tables, I am a tail, I am a leaf, I am from lowly people "...

In this mystery we ask Our Lady to help us realize the value of humility and simplicity of heart and be gracious for all of God’s gifts to us.

NOVENA TO OUR LADY OF GUADALUPE Day 5 Virgin gentle in mercy, in Juan Diego’s anxiety to bring a priest to his dying uncle he failed to keep his appointment with you. Yet you rewarded his filial love by restoring his uncle to health. Your compassion allowed Juan Diego to fulfill the mission you gave him, returning to the Bishop with the proof the Bishop sought. Teach us, Mother, to put God’s holy will ahead of all created things, including our loved ones, and help remove the obstacles that prevent us from following God’s will. FORTIETH SECOND DAY. December 8th

Star Name: IMMACULATE STAR It means…that the Virgin Mary is preserved from all sin from the moment of her conception.

REFLECTION: Mary, the Maiden of Nazareth, was conceived without original sin by God’s grace She was full of grace, the gifts of the Holy Spirit, because she was predestined by God to be the mother of His Son. We read at the Feast of the Immaculate Conception: "Purest of virgins, she was to bring forth your Son, the innocent lamb who takes away our sins. You chose her from all women to be our advocate with you and our form of holiness”. This is what the church teaches us about the Immaculate Conception. We ask our Lady of Guadalupe, that, through her maternal intercession, she will help us to live a pure and holy life

We reflect today on our own sinful lives and ask God for His forgiveness.

NOVENA TO OUR LADY OF GUADALUPE Day 6 Holy Mary, comfort of the troubled you sought out Juan Diego when in fear and confusion he took a different route to avoid encountering you. Then you restored his hope and confidence so he could carry out the task you had entrusted to him. Many people today face decisions of life and death filled with fear and confusion. Mother, we ask you to restore their trust and hope in God so that their actions will always affirm the sanctity of human life. ONE Our Father, Hail Mary and Glory Be.

FORTIETH THIRD DAY. December 9th

Star Name: FLOWER HEAD STAR It means…that the Virgin Mary is the most beautiful flower in the whole world.

REFLECTION: The Virgin Mary is the most beautiful flower of all flowers and the most important flower. The Virgin of Guadalupe chooses flowers for San Juan Diego to be carried to the Bishop as proof of her appearances. Those flowers were the sign from God to draw our attention to her image, as a reminder of her kindness, her beauty and her love. Our Lady of Guadalupe has sprouted as the most beautiful flower in all the lands where the Word of God has come. When we see flowers on the trees, we know that new fruits will be appearing in due time. Let us recognize and reflect on how God gives us the opportunity, every day, to flourish in our lives, to bear fruit for all eternity.

Mystical Rose, your miraculous signs of Castilian roses in winter and your image of the tilma of Juan Diego led to the conversion of eight million Aztec people to Catholicism in just seven years. Mary, Mother of the Americas, intercede again for your children in the Americas and convert the hearts of all who deny the sanctity of every human life in all its forms. One Our Fathrer, Hail Mary and Glory Be.

FORTY- FOURTH DAY. December 10th

Star Name: HEAVENLY LADY STAR It means…that the Virgin Mary in heaven is the depository of the Father's love, the redeeming power of Christ and the transforming action of the Holy Spirit.

REFLECTION: The Church presents Mary to us, as the most perfect model for life and living. Her virtues of humility, obedience and purity are great examples for us as we try to live the Gospel way of life. We honor her as our Queen and our Mother as she is the mediatrix of all graces.

Today, we reflect on our Heavenly Queen with her many titles and thank her for her “YES”

Mary, mother of the Church your apparitions at Tepeyac and the miraculous image you left, fostered unity between Catholic conquerors and clergy and the millions of Aztec converts. Bring unity, Mother, to the various factions within the church and the wider public so that all may work to establish a culture of life from womb to tomb. ONE Our Father, Hail Mary and Glory Be.

FORTY- FIFTH DAY. December 11th

Star Name: COURAGE STAR It means…that the Virgin Mary encourages us to fall in love with her son.

REFLECTION: The Virgin of Guadalupe motivates us to be like her Son. She is very respectful of culture and peoples lives. She is very loving, kind and compassionate. Mary encourages her audience to love God and to love their neighbor as themselves and wishes them to walk always in the way of the Lord. Our Lady desires that her Son may be known, loved and served. She also offers us her love, guidance and protection. We reflect on how we like Mary will be new evangelizers.

Our Lady of Guadalupe brings a message of peace to her people. ... Mother of our Savior, the conversion of your Aztec children brought an end to infant sacrifice in Mexico. Holy Mary, we implore your help, to end the infant sacrifice by abortion, to care and protect children and adults who suffer from abuse, hunger, violence, trafficking and the lack of love. Also pray for an end to the death penalty and our migrants that they will be reunited again as family. One Our Father, Hail Mary and Glory Be. Star Name: PERFECT STAR It means…that Virgin Mary is "full of grace".

REFLECTION: Only God is perfect... Jesus tells us "... be perfect as my heavenly Father is perfect"... Today as we celebrate the feast day of Our Lady of Guadalupe we give thanks to God for the love and sentiments of Mary His mother. We also today thank Mary for being our spiritual mother and showing us the way to her Son. We thank her for her many apparitions especially today on her anniversary of Guadalupe to remind us to love her son. Let us humbly reflect on our commitment to the spiritual and corporal works of mercy. The mission of the Virgin of Guadalupe was to bring her Son to a new Continent. Our mission is to bring Jesus in our time, to our nation and our world.
