Lucija Majstorovic , age 26, is considered to be one of the most promising Croatian female pianists of this generation. Despite her age, she has already been recognised as an authentic musical talent by major art institutions in and abroad. Gaining a reputation as a skilled performer of the 20th century and contemporary music repertoire, she has been invited to take part in some of the most important modern music festivals in Europe, always choosing to perform lesser-known works by famous artists.

Pursuing soloist career, she held recitals in Germany (Cologne, Aachen, Munich), Poland (Warsaw), Slovenia (Ljubljana, Zagorje), Croatia (, Opatija, Varaždin, Dubrovnik, ), France (Paris) and Italy (Verona, Milan, Catania, Turin, Florence, Barga).

She is best known for winning the modern music competition “Concours Festival – repertoire pianistique moderne“, April 2016 in Paris, during the edition dedicated to Prokofiev, Kabalevsky and Shostakovich, where, after passing to Grand Finale, was awarded with the unanimity of the jury with two top prizes: “Le Chant du Monde” award for the best interpretation of the Sonata by Sergei Prokofiev and a prize for the best interpretation of the contemporary work (Toccata by Unsuk Chin).

Acknowledged as a prodigy child, studying in Pavao Markovac Music School in Zagreb under Mara Bolfek, she gave her first recital at the age of eight and performed as a soloist with orchestra at the age of eleven. Since the beginning of her musical training, she has been winning numerous international and national competitions, both as a soloist and chamber musician: ten time winner of the National Croatian Competition, and winner of the international competitions such as ITAKA Ljubljana (Slovenia), Carl Czerny Prague (Czech Republic), EPTA Belgium, EPTA Croatia, Bösendorfer Vienna (Austria), Marktoberdorf (Germany), Zlatko Grgošević (Croatia) and many more in Italy: Minerbio, Gorizia, Florence, Trieste, Cortemilia, Padua, Barletta etc.

At the age of 18, after graduating as a pianist at the Pavao Markovac Music School, she decided to pursue her lifelong dream of playing percussion, and after only two months of preparation, passed the entrance exam and entered the above-mentioned school, immediately to be put in a secondary education. Studying with Boz idar Rebic and Tomi Spasevski, but also mentored by world-renowned percussionists Ivana Bilic and Igor Les nik.

Entering the percussion world has opened her interest in contemporary music, which encouraged her to continue studying piano at the Zagreb Music Academy with Katarina Krpan, a contemporary music expert, and her father Vladimir Krpan, an eminent Croatian pianist.

From the start of the Academy, she has been active as a contemporary music performer by joining “HR Projekt“, a project formed to promote Croatian contemporary music. Showing great enthusiasm, it allowed her to collaborate with many artists, some of whom have dedicated their music to her. As a guest of many contemporary music festivals (Music Biennale Zagreb, Opatija Music Festival, Samobor Music Festival, Showroom of Contemporary Sound, Jeunesses Musicales Poland, Orle ans Concours International), she premiered works by Croatian and foreign contemporary composers. She also performed a contemporary piece “Rahbodea” for piano solo with orchestra, accompanied by Zagreb Music Academy Symphony Orchestra.

In January 2011, after winning the Academy Competition, she was chosen to perform at an audition with a celebrated pianist and conductor Zoltan Kocsis and Central European Orchestra. She also played as a soloist with Pavao Markovac String Orchestra, Zagreb Chamber Orchestra, Zagreb Music Academy Symphony Orchestra and Zagreb Orchestra of the Youth.

In 2011, she was invited to study with Federico Gianello, a renowned Italian pianist, former student of Lazar Berman and Alexander Lonquich, at the first Steinway Society Academy (Verona). During her studies in Italy, she performed as a soloist with Philharmonic Orchestra of the “Arena di Verona“ Foundation, with Prokofiev’s Third Concerto, a performance that was highly acclaimed by the critics – again confirming her understanding of the 20th century music. She also performed with Verona Conservatory Symphony Orchestra. She gave recitals as a part of the festival such as “Amici della musica Verona“, “Settimana Scriabiniana”, “Opera Barga”, “Concerti in Chiostro“, “Rasegna Steinway“, “Spazi Armonici“. In 2013, she won 2nd prize at Osimo International Piano Competition, and in 2016 she performed with Andrea Lucchesini at the celebrated festival MiTo in Turin and Milan.

She collaborated with artists such as Louis Andriessen, Christian Lindberg, Stanislav Kochanovsky, Pavel Vernikov, Wiktor Bochman, Renato Rivolta, Andrea Lucchesini, Attila Szilvasi, Alessandro Bonato, Nicolas Paszkowski, Alberto Martini, Simone Bernardini, Michele Gamba, John Axelrod, Berislav S ipus , Srboljub Dinic , Igor Tatarevic , Ivan Josip Skender, Mladen Tarbuk, Kres imir Seletkovic , Ney Rosauro and many others.

As of 2014, after passing an audition, she is a member of Orchestra Giovanile Italiana.

In November 2016, she has been admitted to the Chamber Music Postgraduate Course at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in , and 2nd Level Master in Contemporary Music Interpretation at the Conservatorio di Santa Cecilia, also in Rome.

Because of her performances of the 20th century and contemporary music, she received Chancellor’s Award, Zagreb Music Academy’s Award, City of Zagreb Scholarship, UniCredit Bank Scholarship, Banco Popolare di Verona Scholarship and a Scholarship made available by Italian Ministry of Education (MIUR).
