At the risk of stating the obvious, 2020 has been a challenging year. The pandemic changed how we live, forced us to distance and added stress in an already anxious world. It led to an economic downturn that resulted in many people losing jobs and healthcare. And all of this unfolded during an election that can best be described as vitriolic and divisive.

Yet, we have much for which to be thankful, especially at the community level. This year the Foundation celebrates 25 years of incredible donor generosity. From large projects such as the library, arts center and amphitheater, to impactful programs like the lecture series, author residency program and wellness initiatives, Foundation donors The New Albany Lecture Series went virtual this season and opened with its “Conversations on Social Justice.” continually respond to community needs with compassion, aspiration and generosity. goal of stimulating constructive community dialogue and greater understanding. This year, due to the unique circumstances facing our community and country, the Foundation adjusted the format of our lecture series. Through the new format, the 2020-21 programs are virtual and free to all. It is our hope to extend programming of The New Albany Lecture Series far beyond surrounding communities and central Ohio schools. Through the generosity of our donors and the new virtual format, the Foundation has been able to more than double the number of viewers during the first two programs. Below are a few snapshots of viewers and participants from the Conversations on Social Justice programs. We invite you to join us virtually for the remainder of the season.
