Adding a Training Session Date and Time to Outlook
Your registration confirmation email will have an attachment ending in .ics. Double click the .ics file and click “Yes” to add it to your Outlook calendar. Confirm the details and click “Save & Close.”
How to Add to Your Outlook Calendar From the Training Details Page.
On the Training Details page for your session there will be a link that says “Add to Calendar.”
Clicking this link will download an .ics file that, when opened, will open the calendar appointment tool in Outlook.
What follows are guides for opening the .ics file in the three major internet browsers.

Firefox
When you click on the .ics file, Select “Open with…” and make sure Microsoft Outlook is chosen.
Check the box to “Do this automatically for files like this from now on.”
Note at the bottom it says the Settings can be changed using the Applications tab in Firefox’s Options.

To change or verify the auto open setting:
Click on the three lines in the upper right hand corner and click “Options.”

Click the “General” tab on the left.
Scroll down to Files and Applications.
You will now see “iCalendar File” as a Content Type and “Use Microsoft Outlook” as an Action.
If you want to change the default action, click on “Use Microsoft Outlook.”
Internet Explorer
At the bottom of the window, you will see download options.
Click “Open.”

Chrome
In the lower left of the screen, you will see the download.
Click the arrow to the right of the file.
Select “Always open files of this type.”
Click the arrow again and select “Open.” (Now that you have se the file to always open, you will not need to do this in the future.)
Outlook as default program
Both Internet Explorer and Chrome use the Operating System’s Default Program to open .ics files.
Here is how we set Outlook as default.

Click the “Start” menu and go to Control Panel. Next, select “Default Programs.”
If you cannot locate “Default Programs,” you can search for it in the upper left-hand corner of the screen, where it says “Search Control Panel.”
Click on “Set your default programs.”

Click on “Outlook” on the left under Programs.
Click “Set this program as default.” Click “OK.”
