Furthermore it is necessary to inform the staff of the applicable breeding association and the membership number of the mare.

The semen order has to occur at all stations via telephone, fax or email until 11.30 h the day prior to the insemination. Orders that come in later can only be sent the next day with a courier service.

4. Considerations

4.1Lower Saxonian Associations

The concept of the Lower Saxonian Breeding Associations enfolds the associations traditionally situated and/or accredited in . These include the Hanoverian association, the breeders association of the Oldenburger horse, the breeding association for German horses and the Trakehner association.

4.2 The published breeding fee applies, if no notice about a change is given at the service station itself or on the homepage of the .

4.3 Discounts

4.3.1 Discounts

The following applies to all mares, which were covered or artificially inseminated in the previous year by a Celle State Stud stallion where the covering did not result in a living foal: The breeding fee 2013 will be reduced by half the breeding fee 2012 of the chosen 2012 stallion. If a stallion from a cheaper price category is chosen, the remaining fee will not be reimbursed. This rule applies as long as no other rule is noted with the concerning stallion. The credit voucher is with a proposal also usable for other mares. The proposal can be given to you by the staff at a service station.

In some exceptions, the reduction is only applicable if the mare was covered the previous year by the same stallion. These are: Codex One, Lacan, Londontime, Lord Lohengrin, Numero Uno, Quite Easy I.

4.3.2 Reimbursement when not in foal

With the stallions Bonaparte N AA, the (Belmundo xx, Foxattac xx, Lauries Crusador xx, Likoto xx, Nobre xx, Watermill Rolex xx), the A-line stallions (Asti Spumante, Alabaster), the G-line stallions (Graf Galen, Graf Top, Grey Top) and the stallions of the W-line (Weltmeyer, Weltruhm, Wolkenstein II, Wokentanz, and Dutschke) the full breeding fee will be reimbursed if the mare is proven to not be in foal by the cut-off date, the 15.10.2013. After the entry of the not in foal attest, the credit voucher for the breeding season 2014 will be send. This voucher can be used on any of the service stations of the State Stud Celle and is not connected to a certain stallion or mare. The voucher is only valid, when the concerning stallion was the first used stallion in the continuing season. Furthermore the stallion exchange is only possible in the stallions named above with the same conditions. When switching to a stallion not named above, the entitlement to the voucher expires.

The certificate of not being in foal will only be valid, if it arrives at the Celle State Stud administration office with the post stamp 15.10.2013 and a veterinary certificate which is stamped and signed. Certificates that arrive after this set date will be discarded.

Prices for the stallions which are available via frozen semen can be found on the website. There the prize is listed for a single dose.

4.4 Breeding fee reduction when not in foal

For mares, who were covered/inseminated for the first time by a Celle State Stud Stallion after the 1st of July 2013 which did not result in a living foal in the year 2014, the breeding fee will be charged to the breeder account of the previously payed breeding fee for the coming year. When a stallion from a lower price category is chosen, the difference will not be payed out. With a proposal, the credit voucher can be transferred to be used for a different mare. The proposal can be collected from the staff at the service stations. The reduction can only be granted if the receipt from the previous year can be shown.

It is only applicable to the stallions listed under 4.3.1 if the mare was covered/inseminated in the previous year by the same stallion.

4.5 The process and the additional costs applicable to supra-regional fresh semen shipment

The fresh semen shipment occurs usually germanwide and with the EU- stations all over Europe. This is how we proceed and account:

4.5.1 Insemination at supra-regional stations

The breeder requests the insemination of his mare at the station of his choice at the latest the day before the insemination is supposed to take place until 11.30 h. He also drops off the signed covering/insemination request. The concerning member of staff then contacts the applicable service station, where the stallion is stationed, and orders if possible the semen dose. Within every region (north, north-east, south-east, middle and west) the shipping is free of cost for the breeder. The cost for the supra- regional transport needs to be covered by the breeder. The amount that is paid by the breeder for every portion, is set by the standard rate of the express delivery service and costs an extra 25 ,- € (during working days), and 100,- € (delivery Sundays and holidays) within including packaging. For deliveries outside of Germany the prices vary depending on the location.

As a general State Stud fee we charge 10,- € per mare per season. The supra-regional delivery of fresh semen is due to biological barriers not guaranteed. If applicable the breeder must sometimes bring the mare to the station where the stallion is stationed for a second insemination, or the semen can be picked up directly at the station after a telephone inquiry (the previous day).Furthermore the dispatch of semen from stallions which are stationed outside of the service station network, can be temporarily impossible during weekends and holidays. In those cases, the breeder has to organize the transport of the semen himself, or organize the transport of the mare to the service station of the stallion.

4.5.2 Yard Insemination

Yard inseminations at the stable of the breeder must generally be undertaken by contracted veterinarians or respectively by own stock inseminators, with which the State Stud has written insemination contracts.

The breeder delivers the signed covering/insemination contract before the insemination to one of the breeding stations of his choice. Over that station, the semen is later ordered and if available delivered. Additionally a semen dispatch and a usage certificate are sent, which needs to be signed by the mare owner and the vet/inseminator. The insemination and mare specifications need to be filled in by the vet/inseminator. The breeding register directory and the fee collection take place at the station where the semen has been ordered and will be passed on to the contracted vet.

Before the semen can be issued, the insemination fee must be paid. Concerning the delivery terms, dispatch costs and additional administration fees for every single dose of semen that needs to be shipped, which originates from stallions which are stationed outside of the regional network, please look through the explanation under 4.5.1.

If the inseminating vet undertakes any further actions, the bill will have to be paid by the breeder.

4.6 Livery of mares

Mares can, if space is available, stay at the service station of the State Stud Celle. A charge of 10,- € per day applies per mare for the livery at the station.

4.7 Concerning additional charges, if applicable, please refer to bulletins at the service stations. 5. Dr. med. vet. Gunilla Martinsson is responsible for the hygienic care of all the stallions and is also the contracted veterinarian for the service stations. She is stationed at the State Stud Celle and can be contacted under:

Mail: [email protected]

6. The State Stud Celle reserves the right to necessary changes during the breeding season to the stallion allocation plan and the included explanations and fees. Please refer to the homepage or the bulletin at the service stations for current information.

If there are given two phone numbers, the first one will lead you to the stable while the second one will lead to into the office situated at the stable.

Fees for the performance of the EU-inseminations and embryo transfer station Celle:

Further possibly necessary examinations are excluded.
