only won the title in the division for six-year olds, but also earned silver and bronze in the division for five-year olds with two Hannoveraner horses. Four horses from Hannoveraner breeding programs fin- ished in the top five of the final for five-year olds, which is certainly gratifying from a Hannoveraner perspective. Out of 41 horses in the final qualifica- tion, 18 were Hannoveraner, in other words Han- nover had the largest contingent in this division. Out of 18 finalists, nine came from the Hannover- aner breeding area. As strong as the representa- tion of Hannoveraner was in the division for five- year olds, as little was the number in the class for six-year olds. Only two competed in the final qual- ification, none made it into the final.

Because of the Corona pandemic, this year cannot be compared to any other. One could not but no- tice the special circumstances in the com- petitions. Only riders and their grooms were per- mitted with strict regulations in place, and journalists. Their accreditations had been limited considerably. Especially during the finals on Sun- day, the atmosphere on Warendorf’s cross-country terrain suffered quite a bit. Usually many specta- tors fill the grandstands and the sectioned-off ar- eas and watch the exciting competition while cheering and clapping. Now these areas were empty and quiet. This circumstance did, however, not damage the sport or the extraordinary perfor- mances of horses and riders. Especially in the divi- sion for five-year olds, highly talented horses com- peted. The performances, which the horse-rider All spots on combinations delivered all the way into the final, deserved nothing but top scores.
