Position Title – Master

Reports to: Lighting Director

FLSA Status: Seasonal/ Hourly

The Arvada Center is seeking a Master Electrician to join our theatrical production team. We are a well-established organization with a 44-year history and are seeking a Master Electrician professional who is passionate about our mission and who can add value through their electrical expertise.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Leading a crew, and being a point person on a light hang. Reading, interpreting, and executing plots and various paper work;. (Hook-ups and Instrument schedules.) Strong knowledge of, and ability to troubleshoot networking of various lighting equipment. Extensive knowledge of programming lighting consoles; i.e. ETC Ion and Hog IPC Working closely with lighting designers and an ability to assist them through the tech prosses. Cleaning and maintenance of instruments, equipment, and all work areas. Reading and interpreting various scenic drawings; i.e. Ground Plan, Section, Design Plates, and Shop drawings. Wiring electrical elements on scenery and props, costumes, etc. Hanging, circuiting, and focusing lighting instruments. Running theatrical productions, concerts, and other various events as a member of deck crew, light board operator, follow spot operator, or any other position necessary.

Essential Job Functions, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Previous professional experience and BA or BFA; Proficient knowledge of electricity and electrical safety; Ability to troubleshoot and correct electrical problems; Strong programming knowledge of the ETC Ion; Must be self-directed and able to take initiative and assume responsibility for completing tasks and projects with deadlines; Experience working in a fast-paced, highly efficient environment; Good communication skills with crew members, supervisors, and artistic personalities; Willingness to work nights, weekends, and on-call occasionally is required; must be comfortable with heights; must be comfortable working in bucket and scissor lifts; must be comfortable loading weight on a .

Pay: $16.00/hr. nd Expected Start Date: March 22 , 2021
