Master /Assistant Reports to: Director of Production Dates: June 8th – August 7th, 2020 Compensation: $5,700 plus housing, and $200 towards travel Essential Job Functions: • Attend Production Meetings on mutually agreeable dates, contributing to and assessing technical solutions/systems for executing designs as they are created • Keep in communication with the Lighting Designer about the build schedule, purchase of equipment, and design collaboration process • Assist in the acquisition of the Final Purchase List for Lighting that will be portable and will best execute designs of all three productions • In collaboration with LD, provide creative and technical support throughout the design process as the Associate Lighting Designer • Keep in communication with Set, Props, Wardrobe and Sound Departments regarding storage, transport and security needs and troubleshoot with PM • In coordination with PM, create detailed Lighting work/dark time schedule for summer after final drawings are submitted • Attend on-site production meetings and be prepared to discuss progress • Safely and efficiently install lighting elements into the (as needed) in consultation with LD, TD, and PM • Assist DofP in scheduling and delegating volunteer crews as needed • Coordinate, manage and execute Hang (as needed) & Focus for 4-show rep plot • Be present at tech meetings as scheduled for each production and address notes as needed • Run the lightboard for mainstage performances • Maintain all equipment and respond to all performance reports as needed • Serve as the primary representative to speak on the designer’s behalf after opening night until the end of the season • Supervise electrics department and all assigned persons during ‘All Hands’ work calls • Dismantle, inventory and store all lighting as previously determined with DofP Desired Qualifications: • Experience working as a theatre electrician with a comprehensive understanding of theatrical lighting design • Will maintain a safe working environment and execute all work calls under the safety standards set by the Director of Production and • Ability to work flexibly as a team member and present a positive attitude • Ability to multi-task multiple projects, maintain organization, and be detail oriented • Self-motivated, with a mature, positive, and enthusiastic attitude towards the goal of providing the highest quality work possible, in a mutually supportive environment. • Ability to work at heights from ladders, personnel lifts, and catwalks. • Ability to lift 50lbs. • Demonstrated interest leading a team and mentoring others
