with the passing of Jerome Kern the Academy has lost one of its most distinguished Governors and loyal supporters. It is impossible for us to express the deep sense of personal loss felt by those of us privileged to count him a friend. He was loved by all who knew him, and he created his own lasting memorial in the music he bequeathed to the world. The memory of his kindliness and ~aiety. as well as his wonderful music will remain With us always.
