The Nativity of the Lord TWENTY-FIFTH of DECEMBER, AD 2018 Welcome to Saint Barnabas Church Founded in 1869, Saint Barnabas is a Roman Catholic parish of the Personal Ordinariate of the Chair of Saint Peter. The Ordinariate was established in 2012 by Benedict XVI in order to preserve elements of the Anglican tradition within the . The parish entered the Catholic Church in 2013. is celebrated using Divine Worship, the Vatican-promulgated Missal also known as the Ordinariate or Anglican Use . All Catholics may fulfill their Mass obligation on Sundays and holydays at Saint Barnabas. Catholics in full communion with the Holy See of Rome may receive Holy Communion at our Masses. Confessions are heard beginning 25 minutes before Sunday Masses at the rear of the church.

 ACADEMY CHRISTMAS BREAK & WEEKDAY MASS SCHEDULE Saint Barnabas Academy is on Christmas break until Monday, January 7, 2019. Weekday Masses from Wednesday, December 26, through Friday, January 5, will be celebrated at 12:10 pm.

 CHRISTMAS MORNING MASS Christmas morning Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am.

 2018 BISHOP'S APPEAL Outstanding pledges for the 2018 Ordinariate Bishop's Appeal must be received in Houston by January 4, 2019 in order count for 2018. Any unpaid pledges will be invoiced to Saint Barnabas, so if you have not yet fulfilled your pledge, please do so as soon as possible.

 CONSTRUCTION UPDATE Retaining walls have begun to be installed in the parking lot. The pre-fabricated walls for the second story of the addition have been delivered and will be installed after Christmas. Work on the new heating and air conditioning continues, and the new sound system is being installed.

 MASS INTENTIONS FOR 2019 OPEN Many Masses at Saint Barnabas in 2019 are now available for special intentions. If you would like to submit an intention for someone deceased (or living), please contact the parish office with your intention(s) and date(s) for each Mass offered, along with the customary stipend ($10).

 SAINT BARNABAS SESQUICENTENNIAL 2019 Next year, marks the one hundred fiftieth anniversary of the founding of Saint Barnabas Parish in 1869. A series of events is being planned, beginning with observance of the Chair of Unity , also known as the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity (January 18-25). The culmination of these sesquicentennial events will be the Feast of Saint Barnabas, to be observed Sunday, June 16 with Solemn Pontifical Mass celebrated by our Ordinary, Bishop Steven J. Lopes. The complete schedule of events and other details will be forthcoming.
