As part of FCA’s inaugural national CPOV (certified preowned vehicle) dealer meeting, vehicles were launched into auction from four ADESA auction locations — ADESA Golden Gate, ADESA Indianapolis, ADESA Kansas City and ADESA Las Vegas. FCA CPO dealers attending the event were able to participate in fast, live bidding action. “We were extremely pleased to work with our strong partners at FCA to demonstrate the powerful potential of ADESA Simulcast to this sophisticated and tech savvy group of dealers,” said John Hammer, ADESA president. “ADESA Simulcast allows us to bring the auction right to our dealers — exposing sellers to a broader buyer base and helping buyers access the hard-to- find inventory they need. Driver Ugo Sivocci, the eternal second-place in circuit races, painted on to his Alfa Romeo RL a white square with a green cloverleaf: it was his lucky charm to power him through the Targa Florio. And sure enough, the success was immediate – at the end of the race Sivocci crossed the finish line an outright first. A few months later, Sivocci returned to race once more, but this time without his Clover- leaf and sadly, this was the race that lost him his life. From that moment, in memory of Sivocci, the Cloverleaf would be displayed on every Alfa Romeo competition vehicle. But the white square would become a triangle, to symbolise his absence. That’s how the Alfa Romeo Quadrifoglio Verde was born, the sign under which the greatest drivers of all time raced such as the legendary Tazio Nuvolari and Juan Manuel Fangio. -

Date: 1 December 2014 Maserati: 100 years today The Maserati Centennial reaches its conclusion: from today, a plaque at no.1 via de’ Pepoli in Bologna will permanently recall the company’s first workshop, opened on 1 December 1914 - one hundred years today. One hundred years ago today, Alfieri Maserati and his brothers Ettore and Ernesto began what was to become a triumphant chapter in Italian automotive history. It was on Tuesday 1 December 1914, at number 1A via de’ Pepoli, in the heart of Bologna, that the three brothers opened their “car repair workshop and garage”. The “one-man business registration application” was submitted ten days later at the nearby Palazzo della Mercanzia, in what is now home to the Bologna Chamber of Commerce. The application was accepted and registered four days later. This was the start of Maserati’s long history - based in Bologna until 1939, centred in Modena since then and launched at high speed on the world’s roads today. A plaque, affixed by Bologna City Council in association with Maserati, will permanently recall the Maserati brothers’ first historic Bologna workshop. The plaque reads as follows: “Società Anonima Officine Alfieri Maserati” was founded in this building on 1 December 1914.Thanks to the genius and labours of Alfieri and his brothers Ettore, Ernesto and Bindo the company went on to gain international fame and prestige thus contributing to the world’s awareness of Bologna’s excellent industrial identity. Bologna - Raticosa quei 603 tornanti a tutta birra contro il tempo e prime edizioni della Bologna Raticosa si tennero negli anni L1926 e 1939, e in seguito, dal 1950 al 1954 e il percorso di 42 chilo- metri dal ponte di San Ruffillo, alle porte di Bologna, fino al passo della Raticosa faceva si’ che per lunghezza fosse la seconda gara in salita in Europa dopo la Parma - Poggio di Berceto. Dopo una interruzione di 8 anni la gara riprese nel 1962 con il percorso accorciato di circa 10 chilometri rispetto all’originale con la partenza davanti all’hotel Posta di Pianoro Vecchio. Nel 1969 dopo gli epici duelli tra gli specialisti dell’epoca la corsa fu defi- nitivamente sospesa. Dal 2001 grazie all’impegno di Francesco Amante e di un gruppo di amici le auto storiche hanno ripreso a gareggiare sul tratto Pianoro Vecchio – Livergnano di 6 chilometri. A partire dalla gara 2007, il percorso ha validità per il Campionato Italiano Velocità in salita. In questo 2015 arriviamo alla 30a edizione, ed è un traguardo già di per se’ vittorioso che condividiamo volen- tieri con gli amici, i piloti, tutti i volontari e gli appassionati cui va il Bologna - Passo della Raticosa nostro ringraziamento. The unique exhibition hosts a priceless collection of historic models and gives visitors the opportunity to relive the history of Maserati through technology that transports you to the heart of the event. A unique exhibition dedicated to the Centennial of Maserati was inaugurated in Modena this morning. MASERATI 100 - A Century of Pure Italian Luxury Sports Cars retraces the story of the Italian car manufacturer through an exhibition featuring some of the Trident marque’s most significant road and racing cars, plus a highly engaging show employing 19 projectors, enabling visitors to relive the most significant moments in the history of Maserati and to learn about the individuals who shaped its history. Staged in the futuristic Enzo Ferrari Museum, a stone's throw from the Maserati headquarters in Viale Ciro Menotti, the exhibition will run until January 2015. Considering the historic value of the models exhibited, this is the greatest exhibition of Maserati cars ever staged anywhere in the world. The inauguration of the new exhibition was attended by the CEO of Maserati, Harald Wester, and the Chairman of Ferrari, Luca Cordero di Montezemolo. They were joined by the cousins Carlo and Alfieri Maserati, sons, respectively, of Ettore and Ernesto Maserati, the two brothers who in 1914, together with Alfieri Maserati, founded the company that still bears their name today. The guest of honour at the inauguration was the legendary Sir Stirling Moss, the 1950s Maserati racing driver who scooped incredible victories for the Trident marque.
