Human casualties and property loss are major consequences of the disaster. Gandaki province is covered by Himalayas, Mountains and Hills therefore it has also high disaster risk. To identify and map the disaster risk zone, ministry of internal affair and law, Gandaki province conduct this study through province. The study identify Gorkha district as hazard risk district of the Gandaki province. Parbat district has low amount of risk land. It may be due to smallest district of the province. The study identified 6349 km2 fire risk zone, 1443.33 km2 flood risk zone and 3371.32 km2 landslide risk zone in the Gandaki province. Land use land cover and precipitation are most important variables to model the fire risk. Shrub land, forests and areas having low precipitation are more susceptible to fire risk. Distances to water and slope are most important variables to model the flood risk. Lands near to the water and flat area are facing the flood risk. Slope and land use land cover are most important variables to model the landslide risk. Lands around the river sides and steep slopes are more risky area in terms of landslides. Similarly, road accidents, hailstones and lightning are also serious hazards in the province. It is a changing phenomenon. Natural processes and human activities have helped change the climate. Temperature is a vital element of climate, which fluctuates in the course of time and leads to change other elements of the whole climate. An attempt has been made to analyze the pattern of temperature and rainfall of Pokhara with the help of the two decades’ temperature and rainfall conditions obtained from the station of Pokhara airport. The increasing trend of temperature and the decreasing trend of rainfall might be the symbol of climatic modification. This trend refers to some changes in the climatic condition that may affect water resources, vegetation, forests and agriculture. KEYWORDS: Adaptation, climate, climatic modification, desertification, environmental problem, fluctuation, greenhouse gases INTRODUCTION Climate is an aggregate of atmospheric conditions including, humidity, air pressure, wind, precipitation and other meteorological elements in a given area over a long period of time (Critchfield, 1990). It is not ever static but a changeable phenomenon. Such type of change occurs in quality and quantity of the components of climate like temperature, air pressure, humidity, rainfall, etc. Natural and man-induced factors are responsible for the modification of climate. It is a global issue faced by every living thing of the world.

Methods: A literature review and desk study undertaken between December 2018 and May 2019. An adapted framework of social accountability by Lodenstein et al. was used for critical analysis of the existing literature between January 2000 and May 2019 from Nepal and other low-and-middle-income countries (LMICs) that have similar operational context to Nepal. The literature was searched and extracted from database such as PubMed and ScienceDirect, and web search engines such as Google Scholar using defined keywords. Results: The study found various social accountability interventions that have been initiated by GoN and external development partners in maternal health services in Nepal. Evidence from Nepal and other LMICs showed that the social accountability interventions improved the quality of maternal health services by improving health system responsiveness, enhancing community ownership, addressing inequalities and enabling the community to influence the policy decision-making process.

There are still lacking systematic research and con- servation approach for these wetlands; therefore, our study attempted to assess the status of wet- lands in the Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve, Nepal; and explored threats and conservation chal- lenges. We prepared list of streams and lakes and collected detail information regarding area, district, block, elevation and cultural as well as ecological importance of lakes. We recorded total 11 lakes with total 304477 m2 areas. The Sundaha lake is largest lake of the reserve having signif- icant religious importance. We also recorded 7 streams in the reserve.

I would like to thank WWF and all consortium partners (CARE, NTNC, and FECOFUN) for submitting the updated M&E Plan. The revised M&E Plan is consistent with the approved Annual Work Plan and the Program Description of the Cooperative Agreement (CA). This updated M&E has added/revised/updated targets to systematically align additional earthquake recovery funding added into the award through 8th modification of Hariyo Ban award to WWF to address very unexpected and burning issues, primarily in four Hariyo Ban program districts (Gorkha, Dhading, Rasuwa and Nuwakot) and partly in other districts, due to recent earthquake and associated climatic/environmental challenges. This updated M&E Plan, including its added/revised/updated indicators and targets, will have very good programmatic meaning for the program’s overall performance monitoring process in the future.
