hristopher Newport University President Paul Trible announced the establishment of the Virginia Electronic CCommerce Technology Center (VECTEC) in a joint news conference October 16 with Virginia's Center for Innovative Technology (CIT), BTG Incorporated and Newport News Shipbuilding. The project is supported by a $500,000 gift from BTG, one of the country's largest providers of computer systems, services and products to government and commercial markets. CIT and Newport News Shipbuilding have provided significant support for VECTEC, including a $50,000 grant by CIT to study electronic commerce strategies for VIrginia.
