LARKIN CONTINUES TO WORK IN 2018-19 Despite surrendering a game-tying with 1:16 remaining in regulation, the Red Wings (16- 20-7, 39 points) benefited from an overtime goal by with 26 seconds left in the extra frame to halt a six-game skid (0-4-2). Larkin became the first player in Red Wings franchise history to record four overtime goals in a single season.

* The 22-year-old forward became the 20th player in NHL history to score at least four overtime goals in a single season and sits one such tally shy of matching the single-season League mark of five, held by four active players: , , Alex Galchenyuk, and .

MURRAY, PENGUINS BLANK JETS TO EXTEND WIN STREAKS Four different players scored and Matt Murray turned aside all 33 shots he faced as the Penguins (23-12-6, 52 points) extended the League’s longest active win streak to eight games, while also pushing their personal home win streak vs. the Jets/Thrashers franchise to 18 contests dating to March 24, 2007 (WPG: 0-14-4).

* The Penguins’ 18-game run against the Jets is the longest such stretch against one opponent since the Ducks posted an NHL-best 25 consecutive wins against the Flames from April 4, 2004 - April 4, 2017.

* Pittsburgh, who was tied for the fewest wins in the Metropolitan Division through games played on Nov. 7 (6-5-3, 15 points), has posted a 17-7-3 record since to move into a tie with Washington (24-12-4, 52 points) for the Division lead. Only Tampa Bay (21-4-1) and Vegas (19- 7-0) have recorded more wins and points over that span.

* With the victory Friday, Murray extended his personal winning streak to seven contests, matching the best stretch of his career set from March 6 - April 7, 2016 and matched Oct. 7-26, 2017. Throughout the course of his seven-game run, the Penguins’ third-round pick (83rd overall) in the 2012 NHL has posted a 1.27 GAA, .962 SV% and two shutouts.

AVALANCHE TRIO POWER CLUB PAST RANGERS Mikko Rantanen (2-1—3), Nathan MacKinnon (1-2—3) and Tyson Barrie (0-3—3) each posted three- outings to help the Avalanche (20-14-8, 48 points) collect their 20th win of the season and halt a six-game slide (0-4-2).

* MacKinnon and Gabriel Landeskog (1-1—2) each netted their 25th goal of the season Friday. The 2018-19 campaign features the fifth-fastest instance in Avalanche / Nordiques franchise history, and fastest since the club relocated to Denver, in which two players reached the 25-goal mark (42 GP).

* The Avalanche improved to 5-0-0 this season when linemates Rantanen, MacKinnon and Landeskog each score a goal in the same game. Colorado also holds a 18-3-5 record when each of the trio collect at least one point in the same contest.

* Barrie, who collected at least three assists for the ninth time in his career, boosted his NHL totals to 66-212—278 (444 GP) to surpass John-Michael Liles (68-207—275 in 523 GP) for the most points by a defenseman in Avalanche / Nordiques franchise history.

PACIORETTY, FLEURY LIFT GOLDEN KNIGHTS TO FIFTH STRAIGHT WIN Max Pacioretty registered the game-winning goal in his return to the lineup and Marc-Andre Fleury recorded 25 saves to help the Golden Knights (25-15-4, 54 points) extend their win and point streak to five and eight contests (6-0-2), respectively.

* Vegas’ eight-game stretch is the club’s second-longest since their inaugural season in 2017- 18 and trails only a 13-game run from Dec. 3 - Jan. 2, 2018 - a span that included the longest win streaks (8 GP) and point streaks in NHL history by a team in its inaugural season.

* Fleury improved to 8-0-3 in his last 11 appearances dating to Dec. 9 (2.34 GAA, .920 SV%, 1 SO), his longest personal point streak since a 12-game run from Feb. 21 – March 25, 2012 (11- 0-1).

AHO SHINES IN 200TH CAREER GAME Sebastian Aho (1-1—2), who was skating in his 200th regular-season game, assisted on the Hurricanes opening goal and added an insurance marker to record his ninth multi-point game of the season and lift the Hurricanes (18-17-5, 41 points) to their third straight victory.

* Aho (69-88—157), selected 35th overall in the 2015 NHL Draft, became the sixth player from his draft class and first selected after the first round to skate in 200 games. The others: (281 GP), (249 GP), Connor McDavid (248 GP), Mikko Rantanen (207 GP) and Ivan Provorov (204 GP). Additionally, only seven players in Hurricanes/Whalers franchise history have recorded more points through their first 200 career NHL games.

SNEAK PEEK AT SATURDAY’S ACTION

DRAISAITL LOOKS TO EXTEND GOAL STREAK TO SIX CONTESTS , who enters Saturday’s contest against the Kings with at least one goal in each of his last five contests dating to Dec. 22 (6-3—9), looks to continue his recent string of success as the Oilers aim to improve to 2-0-0 on their current four-game road trip.

* Draisaitl (Cologne, Germany) sits tied with Lightning forward Nikita Kucherov (5-12—17 in 5 GP) for the League’s longest active goal streak. He can match the NHL record for longest goal streak by a German-born player - Walt Tkaczuk (Emsdetten, Germany) scored a goal in six straight games from March 7-17, 1979 with the Rangers, while Dany Heatley (Freiburg, Germany) did the same from Feb. 20 – March 2, 2007 with the Senators. Prior to Draisaitl, no German national had ever posted a goal streak longer than four games.

* Additionally, Draisaitl (97-161—258 in 309 GP) sits three goals shy of reaching the 100-goal milestone. Marco Sturm (242 G in 938 GP) and (186 G in 833 GP) are the only German nationals to reach the benchmark in their NHL careers.

DID YOU KNOW Twelve players have recorded a goal streak of at least five games this season; the last campaign to feature more through 635 contests (21 in 2005-06) finished with the most goals in NHL history (7,588).

LINDHOLM, GRANLUND FEATURED IN EUROPEAN GAME OF THE WEEK Saturday’s action begins with the NHL European Game of the Week as and the Flames (25-13-4, 54 points) visit Jakub Voracek and the Flyers (15-20-5, 35 points) at the Wells Fargo Center. Other areas of Europe will see Mikael Granlund and the Wild (19-17-3, 41 points) travel to Ottawa to face off Mikkel Boedker and the Senators (15-21-5, 35 points). * Lindholm (20-28—48) has found the score sheet in seven of his last nine games and enters Saturday two points shy of his first career 50-point season, in which he would join teammates Johnny Gaudreau (23-38—61) and Sean Monahan (22-29—51) who have already reached the benchmark this season. The Avalanche, Oilers and Lightning are the only other teams to feature multiple players with 50 or more points.

* Mikael Granlund leads the Wild with 11-26—37 in 39 GP this season. Since entering the League in 2012-13, Granlund ranks second among Finnish-born players with 89-216—305, trailing only teammate Mikko Koivu (91-231—322) over that span.
