LAST GAME (Nov. 21) - Colorado 7 at Los Angeles 3 Seven different Avalanche players scored, seven had multiple points and Semyon Varlamov picked up his 200th career victory in Colorado's 7-3 win over the Kings at Staples Center. The Avs went 3-for-4 on the power play, while killing off all three Kings opportunities. The Avs scored twice in the first period, twice in the second and three times in the third.

TONIGHT The Colorado Avalanche wraps up a three-game Pacific Division road trip tonight in Glendale against the Coyotes. The Avs are 2-0-0 so far on this trip, winning 4-3 in overtime on Sunday in Anaheim and 7-3 on Wednesday in Los Angeles. The Avs are 4-0-1 in their last five contests and have won three straight on the road. Tonight is the first half of a back-to-back for the Avs, who fly home after this evening's contest to host the Dallas Stars tomorrow night at Pepsi Center. This ends a stretch that had the Avalanche playing 14-of-20 on the road from Oct. 9-Nov. 23. The Avs are looking for their first 3-0-0 road trip since Dec. 12-15, 2015.

BLACK FRIDAY The Avs are 4-3-2 all-time on the day after Thanksgiving.

BACK-TO-BACK The Avs are playing their third back-to-back set of the season. Colorado is 1-1-0 on the first night and 0-1-1 on the second game. The Avs are scheduled for 11 back-to-back games in 2018-19 after also playing 11 last year.

YOUR LEAGUE LEADER AT THANKSGIVING Mikko Rantanen leads the NHL in scoring with 34 points (8g/26a), the most ever by an Avalanche player through the first 21 games of a season. It is one point better than Joe Sakic (33) had through 21 contests in 1996-97. Since the team relocated to Denver in 1995, the only other time an Avalanche player led the NHL in scoring on the morning of U.S. Thanksgiving was in 1996-97, when Sakic and Peter Forsberg were co-leading the league with 35 points. However, in 2003-04, Alex Tanguay took over the scoring lead with three assists on Thanksgiving night in Calgary to lead all players with 31 points at the time. Rantanen was the first NHL player to reach the 30-point mark this season, joining Forsberg (1997-98) and Sakic (1998-99) as the only Avalanche/Nordiques skaters to be the first NHL players to reach 30 points in a season. Mikko has held at least a share of the NHL scoring lead for each of the last 31 days since the morning of Oct. 23. He’s been the outright leader for 25 of those 31 days.

LINE OF FIRE Colorado's top line of Gabriel Landeskog (1g/2a)—Nathan MacKinnon (2g/3a)—Mikko Rantanen (1g/4a) has combined for 13 points in two games so far on this road trip. The trio has combined for 88 points (35g/53a) in 21 contests this season, the most points of any three teammates in the NHL. Toronto's Mitchell Marner (28), Morgan Rielly (26) and (26) rank second with 80. Rantanen-MacKinnon rank 1-2 in League scoring and are by far the most frequent point pair in the NHL, as 28 times they've BOTH been involved in a goal. They are just the third set of teammates since 1985-86 to rank first and second in League scoring through 331 games of a season. Stamkos and Kucherov also did so in 2017-18, while the Penguins trio of Mario Lemieux, Jaromir Jagr and Ron Francis held the top three slots in 1995-96. This is only the fifth time in Avalanche/Nordiques franchise history that two players from the same team hit 30 points within the club’s first 21 games of a season. Colorado’s threesome has factored on 43 of 78 goals this season (55%). Rantanen leads the league in assists (26), MacKinnon is tied for fourth in goals (14) and Landeskog is tied for second in plus/minus (+13).

STREAKING Tyson Barrie has a six-game assist streak (2g/6a), the longest such streak of his career, and has 14 points (2g/12a) with a +8 rating over his last 11 contests. Barrie is tied for fourth among NHL defensemen in assists (17) and tied for sixth in points (19).

GETTING OFFENSIVE Colorado ranks second in the NHL in goals-per-game (3.71) and third in goals (78). The Avs scored a season-high seven goals in Wednesday's 7-3 victory over Los Angeles. It was the fifth time that Colorado has scored six or more goals this season, tied with Tampa for the most of any team. The Avs rank second in third-period goals (31), fourth in second-period tallies (29-tied) and are leading all teams in combined second and third-period scoring (60 goals).

THAT'S THE POWER OF LOVE The Avalanche owns the NHL's best power play at 32.9% (23/70). The power-play unit, which went 3-for-4 on Wednesday in Los Angeles, is 5-for-6 (83.3%) on this roadtrip and 8-for-11 (72.7%) over the last four contests. Colorado's 3-for-3 effort on Nov. 14 against Boston marked just the fourth time in Avalanche history (since 1995-96) that the club has been perfect with the man advantage on three chances (they’ve never gone 4-for-4).

VARLY REACHES 200 Semyon Varlamov picked up his 200th career victory on Wednesday night in Los Angeles. The Samara, Russia, native became only the fifth Russian goaltender in NHL history to reach 200 wins (see chart). Varly owns a 200-155-43 career record with a 2.64 goals- against average, .917 save percentage and 23 shutouts in 413 games. He is 170-142-31 with a 2.68 GAA, .917 Sv% and 19 shutouts in 354 contests with the Avalanche, ranking second in franchise history in nearly every category.

GRAND OLD TIME Colorado's 4-3 overtime victory in Anaheim on Sunday marked the Avalanche's 1,000th win since moving to Denver in 1995 (including both regular season and playoffs). Colorado's 1,000 wins included 898 in the regular season and 102 in the playoffs. The Avs now own an 899-671-101-120 record in the regular season, one shy of 900 wins. Only five other teams have won 1,000 or more games since Avalanche arrived in the Mile High City.

SEEING STARS Rantanen was named the NHL's First Star of the Month for October. He paced the NHL with 21 points (5g/16a) in 12 games, tying Joe Sakic's Avalanche scoring record for the month of October. Rantanen's league-leading 16 helpers also equaled an Avalanche record for October and were the most in a single month by a Colorado player since 2002-03 (Peter Forsberg 3x). Rantanen and Landeskog tied for the league lead with a +14 rating, an Avalanche record for October. It was the best plus/minus by a Colorado player in any month since Rob Blake was +14 in March 2006. Mikko was the first Avs player to lead the NHL in scoring through the end of October since Sakic in 1996-97.

AVALANCHE POINTS IN OCTOBER 21 Mikko Rantanen, 2018-19 21 Joe Sakic, 1996-97 19 Joe Sakic, 1997-98

RECORD OCTOBER FOR LANDY AS WELL Landeskog led the team with 10 goals last month, setting a new Avalanche record for the month of October (since 1995-96). He was the first franchise player to reach double-digits in goals during the month of October since Owen Nolan (13) with Quebec in 1991. The last Avs player to score 10+ goals in any month was (11) in November 2015. Landeskog led the NHL with four game- winning goals in October, matching the Avalanche record for GWG in any month. Peter Forsberg had four in October 2000, in December 2000 and Marek Svatos in November 2005.

LET'S GO STREAKING MacKinnon and Rantanen tallied points in each of their first nine games, matching the longest scoring streak to begin a season in Avalanche history (since the franchise relocated in 1995-96). They equaled the mark set by John-Michael Liles in 2010-11. Mikko and Nathan were the first set of teammates in Avalanche/Nordiques franchise history to open a season with simultaneous nine-game point streaks. MacKinnon scored a goal in each of his first six games, Oct. 4-16, setting a franchise record for the longest goal streak to begin a season. He eclipsed the previous mark of five straight games with a goal set by Quebec's in 1992-93.
