Past winners include Taylor Eigsti, Julian Lage, Bennett Paster, Lucas DelCalvo, Laila Smith - Won slots in the San Jose Jazz Festival 2 years consecutive, 2011 & 2012 - Played at the SFJazz Center with presenter Daniel Handler (Lemony Snicket) - Co-wrote the Real Groove Book of 80+ transcriptions of “Soul Jazz” standards with Sher Music Co. - July 2012 International release of album “Funkengruven” with Summit Records. Featured in Downbeat Magazine, San Francisco Chronicle, San Jose Mercury News. Reached #27/200 on JazzWeek billboards - October 2013 International release of jazz album “Turn It Up” with Summit Records.
