Outreach

Thursday Evangelism, Outreach and Ministry - One Hot Meal We live in the greatest nation in the world with resources that some countries can only dream about, but yet there are hungry men, women and children in all communities. At the current time our outreach is held the first and third Thursday each meal and we serve approximately 60 people at each meal. As a reminder to all of us let us read Matthew 25:31-46. To volunteer for this vital outreach ministry, contact any member of the Parish Committee or Father John at (219) 374-7621.

Operation Christmas Child The Parish United Youth Association would like to thank everyone for their generous support of this important community service project. This year we were able to pack and send out 71 shoeboxes to children around the world! In the coming weeks, we look forward to finding out where the boxes were delivered. Father John will most likely announce this at church as well as publish it in the weekly bulletin. Thanks again and we look forward to reaching our goal next year of 100 filled shoe boxes. Pastoral Letter

My Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

As we begin a new year and we are making our new year resolutions, let us consider to improve our spiritual life through our thoughts, words and deeds.

We can accomplish this resolution in several ways. First, let us remember to constantly give our thanks and praise to Almighty God for the many blessings. Every day God sends His help to us, all we have to do is open our hearts and minds to view and make use of the gifts freely given to us. Second, as we go throughout our day let us take the words of Saint Paul to heart and pray constantly. Our prayers do not have to be long or drawn out, as prayer is simply a conversation between you and God. Third, take time to renew your faith through corporate worship. Our primary form of corporate worship is Holy Mass and the reception of the Holy Eucharist on Sundays. Throughout the year we also join together for various litanies, devotions, prayer services and special Masses.

Therefore, through our renewed efforts to improve our spiritual lives, we will continue to have the spiritual strength to proclaim the Good News of our Lord and Savior to our family, friends and neighbors. Above all let us remember to forgive those who have hurt us, reconcile with those we have hurt and always show our love to one and all.

May the Christ-Child bless you today and always.

Rev. John P. Kowalczyk, Jr.
