The service, which began in 1949, takes passengers along the twomile long Wildwood boardwalk. Famous for the phrase, "watch the tramcar please," a pre-recorded alert to clear the tramcar's path. Working on the tram car is a very fun job, where you are always on the boardwalk in the center of activity. Wildwood is popular destination for Summer Work and Travel students. Job Description:
Student rides/operates site-seeing tram that goes up and down the boardwalk. Student collects fares (tickets, token, cash), answer questions about the boardwalk, assists older people, people with strollers and wheelchairs on and off tram car.required: Students will be asked to operate the tram car and this position requires strong motor skills and 20/20 vision in order to steer and operate the ride, as well as physical fitness and strength to help passengers on and off the tram car. Having experience riding a go kart, bicycle or other motorized sport vehicle is necessary. Student must have excellent English, very honest and trustworthy, great customer service skills, friendly and outgoing.

From JFK take the Air Tran from inside your terminal to Jamaica Station. Take the E train (the subway) to 42nd Street/8th Avenue. Walk to the NY Port Authority at 625 8th Avenue. Find NJ Transit Bus 319 to Atlantic City/Cape May, which stops in Wildwood.
From Philadelphia, take airport train to Market East, walk to Greyhound bus station at 10th St/Filbert St. Take bus 551 towards Atlantic City, change to bus 319 towards Wildwood.
Two inexpensive hotels where you can stay while looking for housing: Royal Canadian, 3300 Atlantic Ave., Wildwood, NJ or Arlington Hotel, 325 E. Magnolia (between Ocean and Atlantic). These are budget motels where Exchange Students often stay just until they find housing.
