Whitaker Center Welcomes Back Blues Legend Robert Cray and his Band Award-Winning Blues Performer Returns to Harrisburg
Harrisburg, PA- On Tuesday, August 30 at 8:00pm, Robert Cray Band returns to Sunoco Performance Theater at Whitaker Center. In association with SLP Concerts, the show promises Blues fans an intimate experience.
Robert Cray has created a sound that rises from American Blues roots and arrives today, both fresh and familiar. In just over 40 years Robert Cray and his band have recorded 20 studio releases, 15 of which have been on the Billboard charts, and played bars, concert halls, festivals and arenas around the world. There are five Grammys with Cray’s name on them, and he has a suitcase full of W.C. Handy blues awards. Cray was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame in 2011.
Cray has played with blues greats such as Eric Clapton, Buddy Guy, Jimmie Vaughan, John Lee Hooker and the late Stevie Ray Vaughan. This summer’s tour has seen the band travel across the US, stopping at Whitaker Center in late summer just before the band embarks on the European leg of the tour.
