PASTOR'S CORNER

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, I wanted to let you know that there are booklets at the doors of the church to help you during your forty-day journey through Lent. In the pews you will find Stewardship of Prayer pamphlets. These will give you suggestions on different forms of prayers you may like to offer during this season. Welcome to the First Sunday of Lent. The reading today comes from the Gospel according to St. Mark. This is the oldest of the four . It is also the shortest. The theme of this Gospel is in today’s reading: “This is the time of fulfillment. The kingdom of is at hand. Repent, and believe in the Gospel”(Mark 1:15). That’s what we need to do during this holy Lenten season. If you want to know how to do this, pray the first stanza of today’s psalm: “Your ways, O Lord, make known to me; teach me your paths. Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior” (Psalm 25:4-5). We are doing this so that we can be prepared to celebrate our Lord’s Resurrection on Easter Sunday. We are called to die to sin and rise to The Most Reverend new life. This first occurred when we were baptized. Baptism was not KEVIN VANN just something that happened one day long ago. Baptism is the beginning of Orange of our life lived in, with, and through our Lord Jesus Christ. Baptism is To Visit nurtured especially through the Holy .
