    STIMESI MEMS Training Course Program MEMSCAP: MUMPs® (Multi-User MEMS) processes Fondazione Bruno Kessler - FBK Trento, Italy May, 15 - 17, 2012 Abstract MEMSCAP provides access to three MEMS processes, described below, via the MUMPs® MPW service. The PolyMUMPs™ process is based upon the deposition of the following layers onto a Si substrate: a nitride isolation layer, a polysilicon ground layer, two structural polysilicon layers, two sacrificial oxide release layers, and one metal layer for electrical connection and enhanced reflectivity. SOIMUMPs™ utilizes a three mask, silicon-on-insulator (SOI) process based upon a starting wafer consisting of layer thicknesses 10 µm or 25um, 1 µm, and 400 µm, for the silicon, oxide, and substrate, respectively. The silicon layer may be patterned and etched down to the oxide to form mechanical structures, resistors and electrical routing. In addition, the substrate can be back-etched to the oxide, enabling the construction of through-hole structures. MetalMUMPs™ employs electroplated nickel as the primary structural and interconnect material. In addition to this, doped polysilicon layers may be used to form resistors or further mechanical structures. Electrical isolation is achieved though the deposition of silicon nitride and oxide is employed as a sacrificial layer. Trench layers may be etched into the substrate so as to achieve additional thermal and electrical isolation. Gold plating of the nickel sidewalls may be employed if low contact resistance is desired. Topics This training course will provide an overview to the three MUMPs® processes, highlighting their different strengths with reference to potential applications. An overview of the design kits will be presented, and design methodologies will be illustrated using hands-on tutorial exercises.

    Relazione sulle attività svolte dal Servizio per il Sostegno Occupazionale e la Valorizzazione Ambientale nel 2014 UFFICIO TECNICO L'Ufficio Coordinamento Attività di Progettazione e Sorveglianza Lavori ha predisposto per l'anno 2014 un programma lavori molto corposo, comprensivo di attività di manutenzione e di riqualificazione ambientale che ha coinvolto tutte le vallate del Trentino e nel contempo ha permesso di far fronte alla crisi economica ed occupazionale ancora presente nella nostra provincia. Le attività principali programmate hanno dato priorità a lavori che necessitano di un utilizzo elevato di manodopera ed in minor misura all’attivazione di lavori pubblici nella realizzazione di opere puntuali o attività specialistiche. Gli interventi sono stati individuati sulla base delle richieste che provengono dagli Enti Pubblici del Trentino e in particolare dai Comuni singoli o associati o dalle Comunità di Valle e vengono valutati in base alla conformità ai parametri stabiliti dalla Legge Provinciale n. 32/90 e in base alla capacità di compartecipare alle spese nella realizzazione dell'opera. I lavoratori che complessivamente hanno trovato un’occupazione nei cantieri di riqualificazione e valorizzazione ambientale nell’anno 2014 ammontano a n. 612. Una particolare forma di collaborazione che è stata sperimentata per la prima volta nel 2014 si è avuta con le Comunità Valsugana e Tesino e con la Comunità Altogarda e Ledro che ha permesso di dare risposta lavorativa nei mesi estivi a complessivamente 52 persone. Le persone coinvolte in questo particolare progetto lavorativo sono state indicate dai Servizi Sociali delle stesse Comunità e sono state inserite in squadre di lavoratori già attive e “collaudate” presenti sul territorio rispettivamente della Valsugana e dell'Altogarda e Ledro.
