Hest Bank Football Club was formed in 1957 and became members of the North Lancashire and District Football League playing on the existing ground at Bottomdale.

The ‘changing rooms’ were in the old cemetery ‘laying-out’ rooms overlooking the ground.

The team was primarily made up of younger players from the village.

During the early eighties the club experienced significant growth both by developing the Clubhouse at the ground and introducing a reserve side. Promotion through the leagues followed, culminating in the both teams achieving regular promotions to reach Premier and First Divisions.

The Club won a number of cups and the North Lancashire League Premiership in 2003 - also reaching the quarter finals of Lancashire Amateur Cup in that year.

The next phase of Club generation was in 2008 when Trimpell FC (members of the West Lancashire League) approached the club with the proposal of merging under the Slyne with Hest banner. This was agreed and the Club then featured three senior sides playing in two separate leagues

The club also retaines a close relationship linked with both Morecambe FC and Lancaster FC The Teams
