ROAD TRANSPORT ORDINANCE. RULES MADE BY THE HIGH COMMISSIONER UNDER, SECTION 23.

IN EXERCISE of the powers vested in him by paragraphs (p) and (s) of section 23 of the Road Transport Ordinance, the High Commissioner has made the following Rules :—

1. These Rules may be cited as the Road Transport (Routes Citation. and Tariffs) (Amendment) Rules, 1942, and shall be read as one Gaz: 1.3.31, with the Road Transport (Routes and Tariffs) Rules, 1934, here• f. 157. inafter referred to as the principal rules.

2. Paragraph (a) of Schedule I to the principal rules shall be Amendment of amended :— paragraph (a) of Schedule I (a) by the addition of the words "Between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m. to principal ruins. — 10 mils for any single journey or part thereof" in the column headed "Maximum Fare chargeable per Passenger" in Routes Nos. 1,1(a), 2, 3, 3(a), 3(6), 4, 5, 5(a), 6, 8, 11, 12, 13, 37 and 38; (6) by the addition of the words : "—Old City (Haret el Yahud)" after the words ". Gate" appearing in the column headed "Description of Route" in Route No. 2; (c) by the deletion of the figure "8" appearing in the column headed "Maximum number of Omnibuses authorised to ply" in Route No. 4 and the substitution of the figure "16" there• for; (d) by the deletion of the figure "5" appearing in the column headed "Maximum number of Omnibuses authorised to ply" in Route No. 6 and the substitution of the figure "10" therefor; (e) by the deletion of the words from "After 6.30 p.m. in Winter" to "Lower Bethlehem Road" appearing in the column "Description of Route" in Route No. 7 and the sub• stitution of the following words therefor :—

"After 6.30 p.m. in Winter (i.e. October—March in­ clusive) and 7.30 p.m. in Summer (i.e. April—September inclusive), on return journey to proceed to Talpioth through Lower Bethlehem Road provided that on Saturdays and Jewish Holidays the omnibuses shall proceed to and return from Talpioth through Lower Bethlehem Road, irrespective of the hours mentioned above."; (/) by the deletion of items (d) and (c) in the column headed "Maximum !•'are chargeable per Passenger" in Route No. 7 and the substitution of the following items therefor :— "(d) Any 8 stops—7 mils. Between the hours of 10 p.m. and 2 a.m. — '10 mils. (c) Any 5 slops or under—6 mils. Between the hours of 10 p.m. and 2 a.m.—10 mils."; (g) by the deletion of Routes Nos. 25 and 25(a) and all particu­ lars relating thereto, and the substitution of the following routes and particulars therefor :—

3. Paragraph (b) of Schedule I to the principal rules shall be Amendment of amended :— paragraph (b) of Schedule I to (a) by the deletion of items (d) and (e) appearing in the column principal rules. headed "Maximum Pare chargeable per Passenger" in Route No. Al and the substitution of the following items therefor :— "(d) Jerusalem—Ranile 96 mils per single journey (e) Jerusalem—Jaffa 120 mils per single journey.";
