A house-full quarter At UTV Motion Pictures!

Mumbai, April 2, 2008: UTV Motion Pictures has gotten off to a great 2008 with the first 2 block busters of the year – the magnum opus love story & the racy thriller .

Jodhaa Akbar, the historical rendition of the romance between Princess Jodhaa & Mughal Emperor Akbar touched the chord with audiences worldwide and went on to become the 1st Hit of 2008. The romantic- royal saga is now the 7th biggest all time grosser at the Box Office with revenues of Rs.129.3 crores. The film has performed incredibly well in the international markets as well, with the 2nd highest opening for any Indian film in US & Australia. JA is featured amongst the Top 5 earners in the Middle East & the highest in UK after OSO.

Following Jodhaa Akbar is the overwhelming success of Race; the Abbas Mustan directed thriller wowed the audiences with its ensemble cast, unique twists and chartbusting music. The film is racing ahead at the box office, and has already raked in Rs. 70 crores at the BO in just 10 days in , making it the 2nd highest opener of all time. Internationally too, Race has grossed a box office of 20 crores, cumulating its 10 day box office figures to 90 crores.

UTV Motion Pictures is currently enjoying its hattrick in Pakistan with the release of Goal, Tare Zameen Pe & Race; it’s for the first time that a production house has been able to release 3 of their films consecutively in Pakistan. And all the 3 films have met tremendous success of the Box Office.
