Coverscaping: Discovering Album Aesthetics. Museum Tusculanum Press. 2 Abstract The Pomegranate Cycle is a practice-led enquiry consisting of a creative work and an exegesis. This project investigates the potential of self-directed, technologically mediated composition as a means of reconfiguring gender stereotypes within the operatic tradition. This practice confronts two primary stereotypes: the positioning of female performing bodies within narratives of violence and the absence of women from authorial roles that construct and regulate the operatic tradition. The Pomegranate Cycle redresses these stereotypes by presenting a new narrative trajectory of healing for its central character, and by placing the singer inside the role of composer and producer. During the twentieth and early twenty-first century, operatic and classical music institutions have resisted incorporating works of living composers into their repertory. -

Difuso lo scorso ottobre, l’album arriva questo mese in formato fisico, assieme a un atteso tour in cui la misteriosa artista svedese del duo The Knife promette di confondere, ancora una volta, le aspettative del pubblico Testo di Giuseppe Zevolli Fotografie di Martin Falck “Nessuno sguardo irrispettoso / Ubriaca e felice, felice in uno spazio sicuro”, mormora la voce robotica di Karjn Dreijer in A Part Of Us, uno dei brani chiave di Plunge, il suo secondo disco a nome Fever Ray. “Una mano nella tua e l’altra stretta in un pugno”, Quest’urgenza di esprimersi è riflessa nell’uso continua. A Part Of Us celebra la sensazione di della voce, per la prima volta in primissimo piano, protezione degli spazi queer, dipinti come delle anni luce dalle cupe distorsioni dell’album del oasi sospese nel tempo, in cui l’espressione della 2009. Her music for Under the Skin, Jonathan Glazer's film about a man-eating alien cloaked in the alluring disguise of Scarlett Johansson's body, is unobtrusive yet unmistakable, suggesting a mood of barely suppressed panic and emptiness without defining it too obviously. K-zona već deset godina djeluje u promicanju i jačanju vidljivosti pojedinki, pojedinaca, projekata i inicijativa koji se odnose na rodnu ravnopravnost, civilno društvo, nezavisnu kulturu i mlade, a u 2014. za hrvatsku nacionalnu televiziju HRT producirala video reportaže rodne tematike. Broj volonterki i volontera koji su u 2014. volontirali u udruzi je 44, a broj odrađenih volonterskih sati 1669. Broj osoba koje su u 2014. primile naknadu drugog dohotka je 34, a broj zaposlenih u udruzi, kretao se ovisno o kapacitetima, mjesecima i projektima od tri do šest. Vox Feminae.net na jedinstven način povezuje teme iz različitih društvenih sfera na koje gleda kroz rodnu prizmu te uz kritičko promišljanje, nadzor ekonomskih i političkih centara moći ima i izraziti fokus na pozitivne primjere u kojima se rodna ravnopravnost ogleda, bilo da je riječ o kulturi, politici, ugroženim skupinama ili društvenim aktualnostima te na taj način doprinosi pluralizmu medijskog polja u Hrvatskoj, a sve s ciljem demokratizacije društva i poboljšanja vidljivost i utjecaja žena i njihovog doprinosa u svim društvenim sferama. -

Horseshoes killer riffs. and Handgrenades is about as close to punk as we’re likely to get from Yuksek Green Day again. Genesis: Get ‘Em Out By Friday The Official Release Dates 1968-78 Introduction Depending on where one looks for the information, the original release dates of Genesis singles and albums are often misreported. This article uses several sources, including music paper cuttings, websites and books, to try and determine the most likely release date in the UK for their officially released product issued between 1968 and 1978. For a detailed analysis to be completed beyond 1978 will require the input of others that know that era far better than I with the resources to examine it in appropriate levels of detail. My own collection of source material essentially runs dry after 1978. As most people searching for release dates are likely to go to Wikipedia that is where this search for the truth behind Genesis’ back catalogie. The dates claimed on Wikipedia would themselves have come from a number of sources referenced by contributors over the years but what these references lack is the evidence to back up their claims. This article aims to either confirm or disprove these dates with the added bonus of citing where this information stems from. It’s not without a fair share of assumptions and educated deductions but it offers more on this subject than any previously published piece.
