You MUST answer/address the following questions (please title your slide with each question to ensure that you are covering it in its entirety!): 1. What is the name of your chosen genre? 2. When was this genre most popular (time period/dates)? 3. Is this genre a sub-genre of something else? If so, what sets it apart/distinguishes it? 4. What are the general characteristics of this particular genre (How would I know I am listening to this)? 5. Who were the originators (created/developed) of this particular style? 6. How did it develop over time? Any changes? 7. Describe the stage setting or space where this genre would be performed. 8. How do the performers of this particular genre usually dress? 9. Name several different artists or groups who perform in this genre (at least 5). 10. What is the type of music used for? (parties, protests, dancing, expressing emotions, etc.) 11. Describe the audience who enjoys this genre (young, old, educated, conservative, etc.) 12. What is the training (education/preparation) required to be successful in this genre? 13. How is this genre like or unlike others that you have listened to before? 14. Why did you choose this genre and what makes it “good” in your opinion? 15. Who is your favorite artist or group in this genre? 16. Describe the history of your favorite artist or group (please be DETAILED). 17. Name 1-2 of your favorite songs of this group or artist and explain why you chose it. 18. Any other information that you would like to include (can be worth “extra credit points”), e.g. a poster board to visually enhance your presentation….an interview with a particular member of your genre….
