Source: 70 great journeys Hannibal, the noble soldier from Carthage, has died. Hannibal was dedicated to army and taking them to war. Hannibal achieved many goals while he was alive like marching 2415 miles through mountains into Italy and took his army beyond the river Tagus. In the first few years Hannibal and his army were in Italy Hannibal got 3 big victories. These victories occurred at Terbia, Trasimene, and the last victory was at Cannae. One of Hannibal’s famous achievements was at the outbreak of the 2nd Punic War. Hannibal’s army consisted of 90,000 men, 12,000 cavalries, and three dozen elephants. Hannibal lived during the time of great tension in the Mediterranean. After Hannibal was in Italy for 15 years he was focused to go back to the city of carnage where he was fought by Scipio and lost in the Battle of Zama. Hannibal started his 15 year journey with 90,000 men and came back with half when he returned to his own city. Hannibal was a loved commander and everyone missed him when he died in 182 B.C. everyone thought Hannibal was considered that best military leader of all the leaders that took Rome to war no other leader was as good as Hannibal. Hannibal’s funeral will be taking place at the Rome church and it is open to the public and anyone that knew Hannibal. After, they will bury Hannibal at the Rome cemetery. At the cemetery, only Hannibal’s closest friends and the remaining soldiers from his army will be allowed to attend but it will be closed to the public.
