I wanna see that same intensity this year.” In the first volleyball game Northside defeated Lane Tech by a score of 25-17. For the second match, Head Coach Nicole Flores put the reserves into the game. The Lady Mustangs won that game as well, again by a score of 25-17. “We knew that they really wanted to beat us, so we were really pumped going into the game,” Zoe Katsagel- los, Adv. 110, said. “We worked re- ally hard so we knew we deserved to win that game.” Northside’s varsity team has been preparing for games since the start of its season in summer. Since school started, they have been prac- ticing three hours daily with games almost every day. “Northside pulled off a good fight,” Stephanie Stamm, a senior player from Lane Tech’s team, said. “Some overhand serves were ques- tionable. They were worthy con- tenders. They deserve to win, but of course it disappoints me.” The game drew in a lot of fans, which helped improve the team’s performance.
