How to recognize Workplace bullying and harassment The Workers Compensation Act explains the rights and responsibilities of employers and workers as they relate to workplace health and safety. These obligations include preventing and addressing workplace bullying and harassment, as outlined in WorkSafeBC’s Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) policies D3-115-2, D3-116-1, D3-117-2. Under these OHS policies, employers must train supervisors and workers to recognize the potential for bullying and harassment in the workplace. Examples of bullying and harassment Definition Not all inappropriate, offensive, or disrespectful WorkSafeBC’s OHS policies use the conduct is bullying and harassment. U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service The Aquatic Animal Drug Approval Partnership Program “Working with our partners to conserve, protect and enhance the Nation’s fishery resources by coordinating activities to obtain U.S. Food and Drug Administration approval for drugs, chemicals and therapeutants needed in aquaculture” Volume 4-3 AADAP NEWSLETTER October 2008 in Bozeman, Montana, and by all accounts was another very successful meeting focused on wide-ranging and collaborative drug approval efforts. It also appears to have been a ―record breaker‖ with 89 registered workshop attendees. Not only was it a record-breaker for total attendance, but FDA's Center for Veterinary Medicine also broke a personal participation record by sending 13 members of their staff. CVMer's attending covered a broad spectrum of experience and Center expertise - all the way from a summer student intern (Ms. Courtney Coddington) to two Office Directors (Dr. Steve Vaughn, Office of New Animal Drug Evaluation and Dr. Meg Oeller, Office of Minor Use and Minor Species). Film, Television and Video Productions Featuring Brass Bands
Film, Television and Video productions featuring brass bands Gavin Holman, October 2019 Over the years the brass bands in the UK, and elsewhere, have appeared numerous times on screen, whether in feature films or on television programmes. In most cases they are small appearances fulfilling the role of a “local” band in the background or supporting a musical event in the plot of the drama. At other times band have a more central role in the production, featuring in a documentary or being a major part of the activity (e.g. Brassed Off, or the few situation comedies with bands as their main topic). Bands have been used to provide music in various long-running television programmes, an example is the 40 or more appearances of Chalk Farm Salvation Army Band on the Christmas Blue Peter shows on BBC1. Bands have taken part in game shows, provided the backdrop for and focus of various commercial advertisements, played bands of the past in historical dramas, and more. This listing of 450 entries is a second attempt to document these appearances on the large and small screen – an original list had been part of the original Brass Band Bibliography in the IBEW, but was dropped in the early 2000s. Some overseas bands are included. Where the details of the broadcast can be determined (or remembered) these have been listed, but in some cases all that is known is that a particular band appeared on a certain show at some point in time - a little vague to say the least, but I hope that we can add detail in future as more information comes to light. -

Trump University A Look at an Enduring Education Scandal By Ulrich Boser, Danny Schwaber, and Stephenie Johnson March 30, 2017 When Donald Trump first launched Trump University in 2005, he said that the program’s aim was altruistic. Coming off his success as a reality television show host, Trump claimed that the Trump University program was devoted to helping people gain real estate skills and knowledge. At the Trump University launch event, Trump told reporters that he hoped to create a “legacy as an educator” by “imparting lots of knowledge” through his program.1 Today, it’s clear that Trump University was far from charitable. In fact, Trump University’s real estate seminars often didn’t provide that much education; at some seminars, it seemed like the instructors aimed to do little more than bilk money from people who dreamed of successful real estate careers. As one person who attended the program wrote on a feedback form examined by the authors, “Requesting we raise our credit limits on our credit cards at lunch Friday seemed a little transparent.”2 Lawyers eventually filed three separate lawsuits from 2010 to 2013 against Trump University for, among other claims, “deceptive practices.”3 Donald Trump has agreed to pay a $25 million settlement to the people who attended Trump University in 2007, 2008, 2009, or 2010.4 Founded in 2005, Trump University began by offering online courses but eventually transitioned into offering in-person seminars and mentorship services.5 Overall, Trump University functioned from 2005 until 2010 with thousands of students, 6,000 of whom are covered for damages under the settlement agreement.6 Over time, as Trump sought higher profits, the company’s model shifted to offering more in-person seminars. -

But the whole thing was totally unbelievable. PAM Why? MICHAEL Because. There’s no way that lesbians are that hot in real life. I know that we all have our fantasies about a pair of hot lesbian chicks making out with each other, but that’s just not how it is in the real world. PAM Um, o-kay. MICHAEL I mean, seriously, Pam. There’s no way in a million years that a smoking hot lesbian babe would come up to you and ask you out on a date. It just wouldn’t happen. Angry Judges
Angry Judges Terry A. Maroney* Abstract Judges get angry. Law, however, is of two minds as to whether they should; more importantly, it is of two minds as to whether judges’ anger should influence their behavior and decision making. On the one hand, anger is the quintessentially judicial emotion. It involves appraisal of wrongdoing, attribution of blame, and assignment of punishment—precisely what we ask of judges. On the other, anger is associated with aggression, impulsivity, and irrationality. Aristotle, through his concept of virtue, proposed reconciling this conflict by asking whether a person is angry at the right people, for the right reasons, and in the right way. Modern affective psychology, for its part, offers empirical tools with which to determine whether and when anger conforms to Aristotelian virtue. This Article weaves these strands together to propose a new model of judicial anger: that of the righteously angry judge. The righteously angry judge is angry for good reasons; experiences and expresses that anger in a well-regulated manner; and uses her anger to motivate and carry out the tasks within her delegated authority. Offering not only the first comprehensive descriptive account of judicial anger but also first theoretical model for how such anger ought to be evaluated, the Article demonstrates how judicial behavior and decision making can benefit by harnessing anger—the most common and potent judicial emotion—in service of righteousness.
