Appendix 4 Work we have done to date? In setting up this post we were looking at developing a sustainable model which could continue past the 24 months of funding. We spent the first part of time collating contacts and numbers of the schools, making those links with relevant people in each school who would support in organising the sessions. We have also created workshop session plans with tools and activities for young people to take part in, designed power points to deliver to the groups we meet and put together a school’s pack which can be left for teachers to use in PSHE lessons. & We created feedback forms which have been used by young people and professionals in the sessions we have delivered. Responses to the Consultation on the Proposed Post-16 Transport Policy for 2017-18 Concerns Anthony Tschuk I am a social worker with the Community Health and Social Care team based in Newton Abbot. I am Specialised Social Worker (ASYE currently supporting Mr SG. I have been advised that there has been a consultation with regard to provision for Disability focussed) school transport, whereby DCC will not offer any assistance with travel unless there is no other means students with for the young person to access education. SEND S has previously been assessed by DCC Behaviour Support worker as unable to access any other means of transport to get him to college. I feel that this is the case at this moment in time. I am working with S in conjunction with the Community Enablement Team to reassess him and support him to use public transport. Newsletter 7 September 2020 Dear All, A new term; one that will be like no other in many ways I am sure, but one which promises an awful lot of good and surely has to be better than the previous 3 half-terms we have gone through. I will try to keep this brief. During the lock-down period, all of us have been engaged in ensuring children were safe and had access to on-line and home learning. As well as working through bank holidays, half terms and Easter to keep our schools open and operating for key workers and vulnerable children, staff across the trust have worked tirelessly to ensure that staff and children were suitably equipped and that every member of ESW was supported. As an organisation, we also worked closely with Devon to support other schools and the council, and continue to do so. In addition, we made over 500 face visors at the start of the lock-down period, working as part of a co-ordinated team with KEVICC and the UTC, providing these to local care homes, hospices and hospitals. Over the summer senior staff, support staff and teachers have also been working in revamping schemes of learning to take account of lost curriculum time, working to secure destinations as a result of Centre Assessed Grade outcomes (in addition to dealing professionally and swiftly with that whole fiasco) and working with all staff across the trust to ensure schools are able to open for the new term. I would also like to welcome Tracy Hannon to the team as our Director of School Improvement.

The first and most significant was that we entered our fifth year. During that time we have learnt much about how to run a successful national network of local Hubs of schools with a common purpose of providing the best education possible for all our pupils, especially the most disadvantaged. Membership of the Network of Excellence reached over 300 schools. This increase came from some new Hubs and also the continual growth of our existing ones. The next milestone was our decision not to form a Challenge Partners MAT. This was made for two reasons. The considerable additional funding we would have had to provide to support its formation, and that our leadership team felt our role was to support those members who wished to form their own MATs and not to compete with them. There are now over 30 MATs in Challenge Partners, with more joining. Nearly a third of the schools are now in MATs and the numbers continue to increase significantly. This has caused us to focus on our core provision for our schools and that now includes the very popular weekly email and a national brokering service.

Teign School Is an 11 - 18 Comprehensive School and a Member of Education South West Which Comprises 4 Secondary Schools and 6 Primary Schools Within Devon
Teign School is an 11 - 18 comprehensive school and a member of Education South West which comprises 4 secondary schools and 6 primary schools within Devon. In addition to Teign School, Education South West (ESW) schools include Coombeshead Academy, Rydon Primary School and Christow Community Primary School. Slightly further afield, within the South Hams, the other ESW schools include two secondary schools: Kingsbridge Community College and Dartmouth Academy and four other primary schools. The schools within the ESW family share a common desire to give our children the education, opportunities and confidence that will enable them to lead great lives. Teign School was recognised by Ofsted in January 2019 for having “raised expectations”, the staff “lead by example”, have “created a culture of respect and tolerance where there are positive relationships between leaders, staff and pupils”. The behaviour is “good” and the school is a “calm and orderly place where pupils are ready to learn. Leaders at all levels are ambitious for the school.” A new leadership team has been in place since September 2017 and the School has embarked upon an ambitious Improvement Plan. This plan places student progress and achievement at the heart of all we do. At Teign we share a common vision where student achievement is at the core, where we build a love of learning, where we support one another, where we ensure we all have the best mind-set and we are getting students ready for the world. All members of staff are fully committed in moving the school forward. PRESS RELEASE 23.7.21: New Free School for Devon! Dartmoor Multi Academy Trust are delighted to announce they will be welcoming a new Free School to its wider network of schools. Following a successful bid to Devon County Council, the Trust will manage the new Free School presumptive for Devon, which will open in September 2022. The Free School will be for learners with SEMH (social, emotional and mental health special needs) from the Mid Devon region who will be allocated places by Devon County Council in conjunction with the Trust. The new school will be located in Okehampton and have 40 places initially for Early Years to KS4 and will grow year on year up to 100 learners. Dartmoor Multi Academy Trust is excited about welcoming the new free school into its community of family-oriented schools. As a MAT with a strong local identity, it is looking forward to using its strong local knowledge and strong local connections to support all young people – both within the Trust, in the wider area and in Devon as a whole – to reach the best possible outcomes. They will be vaccinating all children in school years 1, 2 and 3. Further information can be found on pages 3 – 11 below. All secondary school aged immunisations are delivered by the school nursing team. This academic year will also see the first phase of moving MenACWY & Td/IPV vaccination from year 10 to year 9. During this academic year (2016/17) all year 10 (girls and boys) and all year 9 boys only will be vaccinated for MenACWY & Td/IPV. Next year (2017/18) all year 9 (girls and boys) and all year 10 girls will be vaccinated for MenACWY & Td/IPV.
