RUST ’N PIECES Newsletter of Antique Motorcycle Club of Manitoba Inc. NOV—DEC 2012 Volume 35 NO 6 ANNUAL DINNER Meeting The Pony Corral on Grant was the new venue for our dinner this year and was a good choice with more space for the 48 members present and good food ably served. Guests of honour for the evening were Niverville Town employees Donna and Robin, who have been so helpful in facilitating our rally over the past two years. President Ross handed over a commemorative trophy to Donna as a token of our club’s appreciation. A fun evening was enjoyed by all. The Confederate Chapter Newsletter The New Rusty Rebel In this Issue: 2011 - Spring Issue A Publication of the Confederate Chapter of The Colonel Speaks The Antique Motorcycle Club of America Letter from the Editor Las Vegas Auction—Results Bonhams & Mid America Did Elvis Ride Motorcycles? Farewell Bob Ward Remembering Raymond Dhue Members New Toys New Barber 2010 Format Next Survivor Series Well here it is February 15, 2011, Where does the time go. It is with great sadness that we say good-bye to one of our own, again. Bob Ward was a great Friend and Brother and he passed away doing what he loved the most. We will all miss your friendly, helpful, loving per- sonality. Till we meet again. The BIG ride 2010, which was a history making event, was the Scooter Ride, spearheaded by none other than ―Big Daddy‖ Ed Dacus. SO WE THOUGHT . What a great job and a GREAT ride. That was last April. But the REALLY BIG RIDE of 2010 was the November Scooter Ride. Thanks again to all the people involved and a special Colonel Bob thanks to Jeffie Dacus Ed’s Mother, Sherri Dacus, Les- lie Dacus Ed’s daughter-in-law. The Breakfast was OUT-OF-THIS-WORLD AGAIN. NOVEM- BER 13, 2010 turned out to be one of the coldest and rainiest days of the month. But the response was overwhelming. You may know 79 people attended the April event with 49 riders were rolling. The November event brought out 112 people and a total of 97 bikes, 50 of which braved the elements and actually rode the three stop shop tour laid out by Big Daddy and Shane Dorton. -

From the Shop with Glenn Bator Welcome to the second edition of “Motorcycle Investor Newsletter”. After the unexpected success and positive response that we received from our inaugural issue which we released a few months back, it looks like Bator Interna- tional, inc. is now embarking on a new path as publishers! This on line magazine got its start as a Skype conver- sation between me and my associate, John Thow, while working on the batorinternational.com website. We both agreed that we have so many cool and interesting things going on at Bator International, Inc. that why not put it in print and share it with our friends. To put together an on line magazine that is news worthy and well received is not an easy task as it takes a multi- tude of talents, some of which we never knew we pos- sessed, working hard to bring everything together. The “brain trust” of our company is without a doubt my wife, Deni. She is the unsung hero and the power behind the thrown. Her editing skills and common sense are con- Publisher / Writer: Editor: Art Director / Content Editor: stantly put to the test while trying to make a sensible read Glenn Bator Deni Bator John Thow out of my ramblings. John Thow, on the other hand, is the Issue Contributors: Marilyn Stemp, Margie Siegal, John Lawless man in charge of everything graphic and is quite a talent © Bator International, Inc. 2014 behind the camera as well as in front of the computer. For this issue, we have also brought in the talents of research- er/writer Margie Siegal as well as Marilyn Stemp, the former editor of the now defunct Iron Works magazine. -
2021 AMA Amateur Competition Rulebook
2021 RULEBOOK 2021 AMA Racing Rules Governing Pro/Am, Standard, ATV and Youth Competition An exclusive service to members of the American Motorcyclist Association The American Motorcyclist Association takes pride in its long record of achievement as the world’s largest sanctioning body for the sport of motorcycle competition. Since 1924 the objectives of the Association have been the same: to foster strong and fair competition, to provide reasonable guidelines for the various types of competition, and to provide an impartial competition program. The rules of competition are intended only as a guide for the conduct of the sport pursuant to uniform rules. Rules related to safety are made to make everyone concerned with safety. However, the AMA neither warrants safety if the rules are followed nor compliance with the enforcement of the rules. Moreover, each participant in competition has the responsibility to assess the safety aspects of facilities and conditions and must assume the risk of competition. Recognized and non-recognized districts, and organizations within a district, must submit any temporary or locally appropriate supplemental regulations for approval by the AMA Racing Department. Supplemental regulations may not be in conflict with national rules. In the event of a protest or appeal, the judgment will be based on information contained in the AMA national rules. Contact the AMA at (800) 262-5646 for the address of your district office. The American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) prohibits discrimination in all of its programs and activities (including all AMA-sanctioned events) on the basis of race, color, national origin, creed, religion, sex, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, familial status, parental status, sexual orientation, or any other category protected by applicable state or federal law. -

Northwich's Very Own Grand Prix in a Car Park
7-8 MAY 2011 Edition 4 2009 NORTHWICH’S VERY OWN GRAND PRIX IN A CAR PARK In the early days of the Thundersprint, the motorcycling press used to tease us – gently and kindly – about having “The Shopping Trolley GP” or a “Grand Prix in a Car Park”. How things have changed! With an entry led by some of the great motorcycling icons of the past, plus the bulk of Britain’s current GP entry, Northwich’s Baron’s Quay car park looks more and more like a tiny GP track every year. 2011 really is the best ever in terms what I love best in life: be with bikes, of star riders so where to start? At the meet fans - and have a play about on absolute top of the tree has to be the track too.” GP legend Jim Redman riding Clive Steve Parrish was a top GP rider before joining BBC TV’s commentary team Brooker’s beautiful Honda CR750. Possibly Britain’s best hope for World Jim’s success record is incredible. Six Championship success this year is World Championships, six TT wins – Scott Redding who is riding in the and against the toughest opposition fiercely competitive Moto 2 class. Scott – and one of the very, very few riders will be at the Thundersprint wearing to ever win three Grand Prix races in the colours of our title sponsor, a single day. Now 80 years young, Bennetts, and there’s no doubt that Redman is as keen on bike racing the track will light up as Scott gives as a 16 year old in his first season. -
