A style brought out in the 1960’s for motorcycle riders with an interest in bigger bikes, the Mark 4 Silver Cross goggles have angled lenses which are inserted into solid brass chrome-plated frames which are then hand-stitched to a black leather facemask. They are often worn on the top of a ‘jet’ helmet for effect. The head band now also comes fitted with triple silicon, elasticated non-slip strips for the perfect grip when worn Halcyon Mark 4 Silver Cross Goggles #241-01 over an open face crash helmet.

Halcyon Mark 49 Goggles

The Halcyon Mark 49 goggle is handmade in the UK using only the finest quality materials and is finished to the highest possible standard.

Unlike many other goggles on the market that are mass-produced using molded plastic for the frames, Halcyon Mark 49 goggle Mark 49 Black Leather Goggles #241-05 frames continue to be made in brass which is then hand-polished to a mirror-finish before being chrome-plated. The frames are hand-stitched to a quality padded black leather facemask.

The goggles’ elasticated headband has enough adjustment to allow them to fit over or under an open-face crash helmet, and the unique attachment clips allow the goggles to fit comfortably against the face, even when worn over a crash helmet, making them an ideal goggle to wear when riding a classic motorcycle. Mark 49 Brown Leather Goggles - BRASS #241-06 The goggles come with laminated glass lenses. Each lens is housed in an independent frame which can be easily removed from the goggle to allow replacements to be fitted. Tinted lenses, which are useful in sunny conditions, are also stocked by BCS. The glass lenses can also be taken to your local opticians to have prescription lenses bonded to the inner surface.

The head band now also comes fitted with triple silicon, elasticated non-slip strips for the perfect grip when worn over an open face crash helmet. Mark 49 Brown Leather Goggles - CHROME #241-09

Halcyon Mark 9 Black Racing Goggles 241-08 The Halcyon Mark 9 racing goggle is manufactured in the UK to a very high standard. Canada tel: (902)542-7478 www.britcycle.com USA tel: (201)880-0366 "Factory" Parts Books for Triumph, BSA and Norton Motorcycles We have over 23,000 part numbers listed on our computer, most of which are found in the parts books originally issued by Triumph, BSA and Norton for the use of their dealers. We now provide a very large range of these books for your personal use. If your bike is a post World War II Triumph, BSA, or Norton we can usually help: If you provide us with the serial number of your bike we can set you up with the parts book for your specific year and model motorcycle. Some pre-World War II parts books are also available, as well as books for some other British marques. Parts books are excellent guides to assembly when used with a workshop manual. In most cases, exploded diagrams show all the parts and the way they are fitted together. Parts books give a part number for each part, which will enable you to order by part number. Having the number for the part you want will ensure that you don’t spend needless time on the phone explaining what you need and still get the wrong part due to communication difficulties. If you call with part numbers we can give you instant price and availability. You won’t have to spend time writing letters and waiting and waiting for answers. These books are usually seventy to ninety pages long and measure 8-l/2”x 11”. Some are new-old-stock, some are newly printed in England, and some are reprinted by us if otherwise unobtainable. The books we reprint are spiral bound with a good stiff cover for easy reference. We highly recommend that you purchase the parts book and workshop manual for the motorcycle that you are working on. Please see the 216-series in the Price Guide section for the current list of parts books.

Workshop Manuals for British Motorcycles If you are restoring or repairing a British bike we can help with a workshop manual. We carry a complete line of Haynes manuals for Triumph, BSA and Norton, and a very large selection of "factory" workshop manuals, currently being reprinted in England. Some manuals we reprint ourselves if they are otherwise unobtainable. We also stock some manuals for other British motorcycles. These manuals contain virtually all the information on repair that you will need or want to know: Assembly and dismantling instructions, specs, wiring diagrams, tuning and setup information, service tool pictures, etc.Workshop manuals go hand-in-hand with parts books. We highly recommend that you have both before you start your project. Every Haynes motorcycle manual is based on a complete teardown and rebuild, and contains hundreds of photos with step-by-step instructions, comprehensive routine maintenance and troubleshooting information, and detailed wiring diagrams. The unique nature of Haynes manuals - with each one written and photographed from the “hands-on” experience gained by a complete teardown and rebuild of the bike - continues to set Haynes manuals apart from all others.

Triumph Bonneville & TR6 Motorcycle Restoration Guide: 1956–83 The Complete Guide to Triumph’s Best Bikes,Revised Edition Softcover, 276 pages, 7.5 x 9.75 x 1 in

Unavailable for years, the book is back in print! The best Triumph Restoration Guide available! Don’t miss out, call British Cycle Supply today! Triumph’s Bonneville and its single-carbed sibling, the TR6, are two of the most revered models in all of motorcycling. Distinguished by their handsome lines and pace-setting performance, the Bonneville and Tiger ruled the streets and race tracks from their introduction in the late 1950s through Triumph’s golden age in the 1960s. Devotion to the marque remained strong even as the sun slowly set on the company’s fortunes in the late 1970s and early 1980s. The original Triumph’s demise in 1983 simply served to cement the legendary status of its long-lived top guns, the Bonneville and TR6.

Author: David Gaylin

David has one of the deepest archives of Triumph primary documents in existence. Growing up in Baltimore, Maryland and near the US Triumph motorcycle distributor, David’s first bike (a 1970 Bonneville) had to be one of these British-built machines. After The Triumph Corporation closed in 1975, he was able to acquire much of their internal documents and memos along with truckloads of brochures, manuals and service bulletins. This vast archive would become the foundation for two books: Triumph Motorcycles in America, coauthored with Lindsay Brooke, and Triumph Motorcycle Restoration Guide. His feature articles have appeared in Vintage Bike and Classic Bike magazines.

Endurance runs were held annually and began in downtown Halifax. These photos show the changes that have taken place on streets and places throughout the province. This is truly a glimpse of the sport of motorcycling that has long since disappeared.

Norton Tuning by Paul Dunstall #214-05 Paul Dunstall was undoubtedly the most successful and professional Norton tuner in the 1960s, the era between the works Dommi racers and the works Commando Production racers and later F750 racers. His book was written in the late 1960s, before Peter Williams started developing the Commando-based racers to an even higher level. Paul’s basic principles, and most of what he wrote then, still applies today. Some of yesteryear’s tuning lore has since been overtaken by later developments - the Superblend main bearings come to mind - but whoever wants to work on a Norton twin cylinder engine could do worse than take this book as a guideline. Last printed officially years ago and since only available as low-quality copies. Now available in a new reprint with a 2010 foreword by Paul Dunstall. Softcover, 32 pages, illustrated with photos throughout; 8-1/4” x 10-3/4” The Rupert Ratio BSA Unit Singles Manual C15, B40, B25, B44, B50 #214-9818 Armed with this book even the least experienced ‘spannner man’ has a reasonable hope of not only being able to dismantle and rebuild a BSA Unit Single, but of making it go better and more reliably than even BSA thought possible! These modern maintenance free sealed batteries require no filling with electrolyte, and have been custom made to replace the old style batteries. Just make sure it is fully charged, and install - no more vent tubes, electrolyte level checks, or possible acid damage to your classic!

Batteries measure 5-1/2" high;2-15/16" deep;5-5/16" wide.

SEALED AGM BATTERIES - Such as British Cycle’s #332-02/A, last longer than other types. They are not “open to the air” by way of a vent tube. They do not lose water. They are also packed tighter. Plates do not vibrate causing material to shed from the plates and short out. Or worse yet, simply breaking apart in some high vibration applications. Sealed AGM batteries typically last 3 to 5 years on average. 6 to 8 years is easily obtainable with proper maintenance.

Typically sealed AGM batteries will give warning before completely dying. They will start slower, and require more charging. This is your clue to replace the battery. Typically they do not fail all of a sudden. Conventional “acid-filled” batteries have a harder life, for many of the reasons listed above. Conventional batteries typically only last 2 to 3 years on average. Although, 4 to 5 years is possible, in the best environments, and with excellent maintenance.

6N113A Battery, Late Style, 6V, Lead Acid Type Part Number 335-06 Batteries measure 5.147" high;2.300" deep;4.660" wide.

This high quality 6V replacement for the out of production Lucas MLZ9E is shipped dry-charged, so requires filling with electrolyte (obtainable locally from any auto supply shop) and to be put on a charger before use.

This type of battery was fitted to 1961 and later Triumph unit 350/500 and all unit construction 6V Triumph and BSA and some Norton, and two of these were hooked in series on first 12V Triumph and BSA twins.

This is the only 6V plastic battery used on any of these models. Also, 1961 and later, dual downtube 6T and T110 bathtub models used these. Preunit Triumph non bathtub models and all earlier used the taller hard rubber type with cap.
